Remember to vote 1, RAEDEL Adrian, on the 28th of April...
During the recent State election, Moreton Bay Regional Councillor for Division 12, Adrian Raedel, spent a considerable amount of time with Campbell Newman explaining and discussing the cost pressures put on Ratepayers. The biggest reasons for cost increases are due to the previous State Government creating water entities such as Unitywater, vehicle registration increases, electricity prices and the loss of subsidies. Moreton Bay Regional Council is the biggest vehicle fleet operator and consumer of electricity in the region. Cost increases in these areas puts direct pressure on Council budgets.
“Division 12 is a terrific place, I will continue to roll my sleeves up and fight for it to be the best.”
There is no doubt that the water and sewage assets being ripped from Councils by the former State Government has hurt ratepayers. The new LNP Government has committed to returning those assets to their respective Councils.
Adrian Raedel will hold the LNP to account on this commitment and ensure the costly unnecessary levels of management are removed including the expensive board-of-directors.
Before Unitywater was created, the Council water assets were running, being maintained and expanded without being a burden on the Ratepayer. Adrian Raedel will fight for the community to ensure we return to a fair deal.
However, the fight doesn't stop there. Under the former regime, bulk-water prices have gone up (cost of water from the State Government to the local area). Again, Adrian Raedel will be in the middle of it making sure the State Government fixes this.
And finally, Adrian Raedel will push for a complete overhaul of the retail billing system. At the moment it isn't fair, and needs to be addressed.

Local resident and mother, Jondi-Lee, is pleased roads have been and continue to be a focus for her local Councillor, Adrian Raedel.
“Every time I get in the car my thoughts turn to the safety of my family,” Jondi-Lee said. “I have contacted my local Councillor a number of times and
been amazed at how accessible and responsive he is.”
With the voice of this community in strong support, Division 12 is in the process of receiving a record $18.5million for local Council roads. This excludes State and Federal roads. Much of the road rebuilding and upgrading is already underway with a big emphasis on planning to get it right for
the long range future. Adrian Raedel has also taken the fight up to the State and Federal Governments on roads such as the D’Aguilar Highway.
Adrian Raedel has tabled in Council a 'Buy Local' policy. It was unsuccessful because other Councillors were concerned that this may push the boundaries with anti-competitive legislation.
However, other Councils are doing it, and if it uses a 'we ight ing ' method in purchasing decisions it is perfectly legal. This attitude of buying local by one of the biggest purchasers in Moreton Bay will help the whole region, and Adrian Raedel will continue to fight for it. Many local business owners, employees and residents will benefit from a ‘Local Buy’ policy. As Bronwen Jackman from Office National said: “If you spend money outside of this region; it’s gone forever, but if you spend it here, it goes around-and-around.” “I support Adrian Raedel in his fight to create a more sustainable local business economy.”
