Employment Opportunity

Upon successful completion of the program, your certification will qualify you to be considered for placement in a role that:

• Develops, maintains, and support Web or Java applications

• Gathers and analyzes requirements

• Programs all or selected components of Web or Java applications

• Documents components and applications

• Researches, evaluates, and recommends new tools and applications for use in assigned responsibilities

• Creates detailed design documents

• Develops and executes unit test scripts

• Troubleshoots and resolves low and medium complexity application defects

Applicant Performance Objectives: 

• Required to successfully complete the entire training program

• Progress will be evaluated throughout the training program. Passing certification exams is required to remain in the program

• Must be able to pass and earn Java Certifications for job placement

Program Description

This free program is designed as a corporate -based pathway to employment giving candidates the opportunity to receive training in IT programming to prepare them for one of several web application development positions with our clients.

Requirements

Candidates must meet the following pre-requisites in order to be considered for the IT Development Pathway to Employment opportunity:

• Legal right to work in United States; honorable discharged or active service

• Must possess at least one of the following:

Program Timeframe: Twelve (12) week training program Monday-Friday 7:00-9:00 p.m. (these parameters may change based on UTD availability)

Candidates must have good verbal and written communications skills. Must be able to work independently or as part of a team. Analytical skills and be capable of following a plan of action or in some cases developing a plan of action for activities being requested.

❑ Two (2) years of college in a Computer Science (CS) or Management Information Systems (MIS) program and passing grades in at least two programming courses ❑ Technical degree in a programming-related program ❑ One year of experience in programming in a business or military environment ❑ Programming-related courses or work history that utilized client/server and/or object-oriented languages
