“SELF PORTRAIT”Written by Wendye Savage
Figure flatteringWell designed, you see;
My, how I’ve learned to love
These curves given to me.
As I look into the mirrorGaze from head to toe;
I appreciate the form, work of artBreath taken, don’t you know.
Let the truth be toldOnce upon a time;
Based upon thoughts I heldThe mirror told me lies.
Bud did I say figure flattering?Well designed, you see;
My , how I’ve learned to loveThese curves given to me.

Wakeup MakeupTips For Busy Women On The Go

In today’s world we are busy juggling full time jobs, businesses, late night studying,homework with the kiddos and the list goes on. Ways to streamline and simplifyan everyday routine is definitely a huge help, especially in the morning!Go ahead and hit the snooze
button a few times, we have some makeup and facial skincare tips from professional makeup artist Dionne Holley that will have you bright eyed and beautiful without spending too much time on application.
Do you suffer from baggy eyes and dark circles? Dionne suggests cu-cumbers to take care of this problem. Cucumbers have high water con-tent and when stored in the refrigeratorthe cool temperature decreases blood to the space around the eyes. As a result, the hydration and re-duced blood flow helps soothe and soften your skin.
Ok, so you’ve hit the snooze buttonmaybe too many times and you are now nearly 30 minutes behind schedule. You are left with NO TIME to put on a full face! Dionne suggests concentrating on applying makeup to your eyes to get the most for less effort.Eyes are normally the first thing people will see and concealer under the eye can be applied if needed to give a bright eyed effect.
Dionne also shares that primer is the key to keep it all in place on those busy days when there is no time for constant touch ups. There are differ-ent primers for different areas of your face (foundation face primer, eye shadow primer, mascara primer and lip primer).
Dionne strongly emphasizes the use of mois-turizer. She suggests ALWAYS having moistur-izer or foundation with SPF in it, like primer moisturizer also helps makeup last longer.Running like crazy around the clock and rush-ing in the mornings is NEVER a good excuse for a dirty face. Properly washing and mois-turizing your face isa MUST.
There are a few facial products every busy woman should have on hand. Dionne sug-gests the following:
Blot powder and Blot padsAdding more and more makeup to an already
oily face is not good. Blot powder and pads will help reduce shine.
Tinted lip-glossA tinted lip gloss that goes with any attire and
concealer will always come in handy.
Tinted moisturizerMoisturizing your skin and giving your face
coverage will give you a beautiful glow.
With these great tips you can hit the snooze button and enjoy a less complicated morn-ing beautyroutine. Remember, you can look FABULOUS even on the go!
