• Much of the plan will be on public right of way

• Primary Concerns:– Safety to cyclists and other

street users– Accessibility & Directness to

major origins/ destinations– Connections with other routes– Attractiveness of the route– Low Conflicts with other users

• We will cooperate with sister agencies create the more complex sections

1) Master Planning ProcessCreating a plan that will guide the development of the Greenway-Literature Review Report describing Gap Analysis results-Site reconnaissance and field investigations-Outreach Meetings Mid March: Existing Conditions-Development of Preliminary Route Alternatives-Outreach Meetings June: Proposed Alternatives-Develop preferred route-Preparation of illustrative design for preferred route-Outreach Meetings January: Final Alternatives-Preparation of draft design guidelines-Develop Project Phasing/Implementation Plan

Next Steps

• Mid-March Outreach– Collaboration with BGI and RPA,

they will be assisting with outreach.

– 4 Meetings in 4 Communities• Sunset Park• Red Hook• Downtown Brooklyn• Greenpoint/Williamsburg

– 3 Series of Meetings: • Workshop 1: Existing Conditions• Workshop 2: Proposed

Alternatives• Workshop 3: Final Alternatives

• Continue to work with other City Agencies

• Work within DOT on existing projects that effect the Greenway
