Our country is facing a crucial situation wherein the fundamental values of our democracy are being threatened. Many intellectuals and political analyst have opined that the country has never faced such an internal threat since independence. The RSS backed BJP government in the centre is not shy to hide its intentions of implementing the Hindutva ideology through government policies. The constitutional institutions are being penetrated by the fascist forces to target the democratic system. Recently we have also seen the attempts to curb the powers of the judiciary. The misuse of government agencies are being openly carried out to target all form of dissent. It is also unfortunate that during such times the secular forces have failed to unite.

Popular Front of India was a direct target of the fascist forces and they carried out a planned smear campaign against Popular Front using the government agencies and some sections of media. The Jharkhand govt. went to the extent of imposing a ban on our organization. It is clear that such attempts are done only to deter Popular Front from its path and struggle against injust ice. Under such circumstances we were optimistic and we continued our struggle through democratic means. The grand conferences organized in 14 states witnessed people coming out in

support of Popular Front. We also saw many religious and social organizations along with political parties support us during the ban by Jharkhand government. We would like to thank each and every person for standing with us and motivating us to move ahead. We believe the campaign against us has only strengthened our resolve and also provided us an opportunity to reach out to new places.

Today the paramount responsibility before all peace loving citizens is to protect the constitution and democracy. This will happen only when the anti-fascist forces set aside their difference and unite for the common cause of defeating fascism. The people of the country are expecting a united struggle and we are sure the people will join the struggle, the moment a credible anti-fascist platform emerges. I would like to reiterate Popular Front's commitment to be in the forefront of this struggle.

By the grace of Almighty we are blessed to witness another holy month of Ramadan. Ramadan is not a month to rest and escape from the current happenings around us. It is a time to strengthen our resolve and rejuvenate our spirit to continue our struggle for justice. I pray to the Almighty to help us utilize our capabilities for the betterment of humanity.

Popular Front of India is a social movement which strives for the total empowerment of the marginalized and backward

sections of the society. The Muslim community is given special focus by the organization considering the socio-economic thbackwardness of the community. Popular Front of India was launched on 17 February 2007 during the Empower India

Conference held at Bangalore. In last 11 years the organization has expanded its activities in 17 states. Popular Front of India

is a cadre based mass movement i.e. our campaigns and activities are implemented at a grass root level through an

organized network of dedicated cadres. The working culture in Popular Front lays emphasis on reaching out directly to the

masses and organizing the masses to jointly carry out empowerment related initiatives and campaigns.

The agenda of total empowerment requires a holistic approach to address all the areas important for uplifting the society.

About us

Educational Empowerment

Education is a one of the priority focus area for Popular Front as the socio-

economic development of any society depends on its educational status.

The backward sections of our country especially the Muslim, Dalits and

Tribals face the problem of access to quality education. The

mismanagement and poor condition of government schools directly

impacts the growth of underprivileged sections of our society. Popular

Front conducts nation-wide campaigns and projects such as School

Chalo, Sarva Shiksha Gram and National Scholarship Scheme to provide

assistance to the needy students. Through these campaign we provide

educational assistance such as school kits, tuition classes, and guidance

classes for parents, career guidance workshop and scholarships.

· For the academic year 2017-2018 the School Chalo

Campaign provided educational aid to 27,362

students worth 1,28,69,548 covering 16 states

· Scholarship worth 1,28,74,750 were awarded to

1845 students from 17 states.

· 11 Sarva Shiksha Gram project initiated in 3 states.

· 1367 students enrolled to schools through RTE

scheme.

Popular Front's central and state units carry out various

projects and community development activities in areas such

as self-employment, safe drinking water, medical aid, food

kits and health awareness programmes. Our local units also

act as a bridge to help the under-privileged sections of our

society to avail the benefits of various government schemes.

Our new initiative of setting up information centres to assist

people is a success story which is appreciated by the

administration and the people.

Popular Front cadres are experienced in conducting extensive

relief activities to help victims of calamities. In the past our

cadres have played a leading role in relief work during the

floods in Chennai, Manipur, Assam, North Karnataka, Kurnool,

Bihar and Kashmir. The relief activities and the selfless service

of Popular Front cadres has been widely appreciated by

administration and media. Moving ahead towards perfection

this year we launched the “Rescue and Relief volunteers

group” which is a dedicated team of trained relief volunteers.

The formation of the rescue and relief volunteers group will

professionalize our relief work and also help us to utilize our

vast experience to train new volunteers.

Calamity Relief

· 400 persons rescued during Bihar Floods

· Emergency Flood relief kits provided to 6650 families

· Hygienic drinking water arranged for 2320 households.

Human Rights

Right to legal defence is one of the basic fundamental rights guaranteed by the constitution. It is also the responsibility of the

government to ensure that the rights of citizens are not violated. Unfortunately for the backward sections the right for legal

defence is an unfulfilled dream. Due to lack of assistance and knowledge of the legal process the backward section often end

up in the receiving end. Popular Front of India gives immense importance for providing legal aid to the marginalized sections

of the society. Many programmes are conducted throughout the country to create legal awareness and also to promote the

culture of fighting injustice through the judicial system.

Legal support provided in high profile cases such as Hadiya

Case, Muzaffarnagar riots, Assam D-voters and Jharkhand

lynching case.

Legal support is being provided in more than 1300 cases

across the country.

50 cases have been filed against violation of Human Rights

20 defamation cases being fought against media houses.

Grand Conference “We also have something to say”

The organization conducted 14 Grand Conferences in 13 states with the

message “We also have something to say”. These conferences were

conducted to present the truth before the country regarding the allegations

levelled by some sections of media and agencies like NIA. This smear

campaign against Popular Front was a planned act devised by the fascist

forces to stop the growth of our movement. The plans to defame us were

thwarted by the masses who displayed massive support to the organization.

These conferences are also a new milestone in our journey and helped us to

introduce our organization to new places.

Popular Front Day

thPopular Front day is celebrated on 17 February every year to mark the

launch of Popular Front. This year the theme was “we with people, people

with us”. As part of the campaign there was a one day nation-wide PR day

organized during which our cadres interacted with 5 million people and

introduced the activities of the organization. Public programmes and Unity

March were conducted throughout the country.

Major Campa igns

The demolition of Babri Masjid was a major blow to the secular

fabric of our country. The fundamental values of our

constitution were openly challenged by the fascist forces by

demolishing the historic masjid. Unfortunately the culprits are

not yet punished nor have the successive governments

fulfilled the promise of rebuilding Babri Masjid. Popular Front th

conducts nationwide campaign on 6 December with the

theme “Lest we forget” to demand justice for babri masjid and

create awareness among the people regarding the importance

of this issue to Indian democracy.

The national health campaign “Healthy People, Healthy

Nation” is nation-wide campaign organized every year to

promote awareness regarding health and hygiene. During

this campaign our cadres conduct special programmes

such as awareness marathons, yoga workshop, self-

defence workshops for women, blood donation camps and

medical camps.
