PROGRAM YEAR OVERVIEW

MWT Program Development Workshop

Training Curriculum Segmented into Three Components

A. Life Skills, Construction Related Education & Professional Development B. Environmental Health & Safety Instruction & Intro to Ecological RestorationC. Construction Skills, Offsite Hands-On Experience, EJ Advocacy & Career Development

Each Component runs approximately 4 weeks.Participant Evaluations occur at the end of each component.

WHAT MWT CAN DO FOR PARTICIPANTS…

Technical training in environmental remediation

Practical hands-on experience in the industry, (Framing,

Drywall, Flagging, Basic Electricity, Power & Hand Tools,

Demolition)

WHAT PARTICIPANTS RECIEVE:

Quality training by federal & state certified instructors

Quality training by master level carpenters 10 different licenses & certificates Hands-on experience Mentoring & career guidance Meals & transportation Job placement

Outreach & Recruitment

Be between 18 & 30 years of age * Have a HS Diploma or GED

Be either unemployed or underemployed

Be physically able to do the work

Have an 8th grade math & reading level

Be able to pass a drug test

Be available to attend Pre-Apprenticeship training full time

Be committed to completing the entire program

2006 – 2007 graduated 38 Certified Students, Placed 32. Six, (6) Month retention, 82%

2007 – 2008 Enrolling 35 Students Forecasting 100% placement's
