JOKE OF THE MONTH
A Golfer and his friend Harry set out for the course one pleasant Friday morning. When the golfer returns home that afternoon, his wife asks how the game went?
“Terrible”, he replies. “Harry had a heart attack on the third tee!”
“That is terrible!” his wife exclaims. “tell me about it.”
“Oh, man, for 15 holes, it was like, hit the ball, drag Harry… hit the ball, drag Harry…”
Enjoy lunch while making new friends! Lunch served daily at 12:00 noon,
year-round in the Community Center. Menus are available in the
monthly Senior Newsletter. Reservations are needed by 12 pm the day

Prepared for Sever Weather!
If you do not have a plan—Create a Crisis Plan.
We kind of take for granted that when it rains, the flowers get watered, the pavement gets wet
and the dogs stink a bit when they come in, but do you have in the back of your mind that the
roof is on tight and won’t leak, the basement is sealed and won’t flood, the power will be on until
I turn the lights off…?
What will you do “IN CASE OF EMERGENCY” or “ICE”. You need to have an ICE plan!
First is to have a communication action, who do you call, how do you call & where do you call
from? Where is the cell phone in the home or room where you are staying to be safe?
Keep batteries charged in flashlight, phone and radio in a Safe Room in the home. Keep blankets
(fresh and clean) along with food and water (checking their expiration dates every 4 months).
With your food, keep a manual can opener and a whistle to signal for help. In a small toolbox
keep medications and measuring spoons for each family member. Also have dust masks, plastic
sheeting and duct tape (to create a safe room in a damaged home). Keep a change of clothes for
each family member with the blankets and any personal hygiene items (in plastic sealed bag, like
ziplock). Keep a supply of food for your pet as well and a crate for each animal if you have room.
Remember your pet needs water too, so keep your bottle count high enough to help pets too.
Be aware of your family and neighbors, as you have no one closer in an emergency situation.
Review the plan when specific types of weather are coming (seasonal, etc…)
DO NOT PANIC! Always remember you have your plan in place and should follow it if something
happens. Talk to your family and make sure everyone knows where to go and what to do if Nature
comes in with an attitude of destruction.
Colors
Shades of gray
Blue and white
The sky and mountains
Fill my sight
A dash of purple
Gives a royal hue
And shifting winds
A changing view
And what would seem
An artists’ dream
Is here within
