Come check out the brand-new rock climbing facility for bouldering or roped climbing. Our climbing wall staff are excited to teach everyone from first-time climbers to those of you that have been climbing for years. Outdoor climbing trips and bouldering competitions will also be offered throughout the school year.
Our staff of group fitness instructors are excited to help you get in shape and meet your fitness goals. Please stop by the welcome desk in the Hadlock Student Center to see a complete list of classes that are being offered this semester. Class sign-ups can be completed through IM Leagues or at the front desk. Personal trainers will also be available if group exercise just isn’t your thing.
The Hadlock Student Center (HSC) contains functional and cardio equipment as well as traditional free weights. Whether you are a self-proclaimed gym rat, or someone who just wants to get in better shape, the fitness center is the place for you. We have equipment for all types of exercise, as well as a staff team who take care of the space and would love to help you learn how to use the equipment. The fitness center can mean something different to each person, but we want to invite you to appreciate it in the same ways that we do.

FITNESS CENTER
Let’s face it, it rains a lot in Oregon and when that rain comes the gym is the place to be. The indoor track is dry and has a beautiful view, and the three full-sized courts can be set up for basketball, pickle ball, volleyball and badminton. Catch an intramural game in the afternoon, or reserve a court for a grudge match between you and your best friend.

RENTAL CENTER AND OUTDOOR PROGRAMS
Get a group of friends together, sign up as a free agent, or forge a dynamic team. George Fox Intramurals offers a fun and inclusive atmosphere to try new sports and find new friends. Compete for the chance to earn the coveted championship T-shirt, and your spot on the Wall of Champions. Sports offered include volleyball, basketball, floor hockey, dodgeball, kickball, ultimate frisbee, and flag football as well as day-long or weekend tournaments for sand volleyball, disc golf, wiffleball and more.
Our rental center staff are excited to help you get the equipment you need to get outside for an adventure with friends. The rental center is the hub for all things outdoors. Students have access to a large inventory of equipment at prices you can afford. Come rent a tent, sleeping bag and stove for a camping trip in the local mountains, grab a stand-up paddle-board or kayak for some time on the river, take a trip to Mt Hood with snowshoes and winter gear, or just stop by and grab a Frisbee, slack-line or hammock for those sunny days on the quad!

WHAT WE DO
The Academic Resource Center (ARC), housed in the basement of the Murdock Library, consists of three primary branches: Writing services, Academic Coaching, and Tutoring Services.
APPOINTMENTS
To schedule an appointment, visit online at arcschedule.georgefox.edu and log in with your George Fox username and password in order to look for available times.
If you have any physical, psychiatric, learning or other disability and require accommodations, contact the Disability Services Office as early as possible so that your learning needs may be appropriately met.
For more information, go to ds.georgefox.edu or visit the third floor of Stevens and request to talk to Rick Muthiah or Jere Witherspoon.
Writing Services: Consultants provide guidance and feedback to students engaged in the writing process.
Academic Coaching: Consists of one or more meetings with an ARC consultant to discuss strategies for academic success.
Tutoring Services: Students should first check for labs that offer discipline-specific tutoring (i.e. math or languages). If such services do not exist , students can check to see if an ARC consultant has experience with the course or discipline.

We are so glad that you are here and we can’t wait to get to know you! Please know that you are always welcome in the Spiritual Life House! Swing by our office at the corner of Sheridan and Meridian if you’d like to:
One of the fun things about being a George Fox student is that for over a century our university has recognized that amazing things happen when college students come together for worship and prayer. And, we believe so deeply in the power and purpose of these gatherings, that not only has the university created space for them in the school day, but we have built it into the academic requirement. We believe that God moves in amazing ways when His people gather to seek him, hear his voice, and bring him worship.
So, what does this mean for your day to day life at George Fox?-Until the registrar’s office indicates that you have completed 93 academic units, you will need to attend a minimum of 15 chapels each semester. You are welcome to attend many more than that if you would like, and we would love to have you with us even after you complete 93 academic units!
We also have a lot of helpful information on our website, and we are all accessible by email. We are praying for you and we are cheering you on as you start off this new school year!
10 of your 15 chapels need to be from one of the following four chapel options:
Your remaining 5 chapel credits can come from one of the above options, or from any one of our elective chapel options. To learn more about elective chapels, tracking your attendance, or what will happen if you don’t attend all 15 chapels, please see our webpage at: georgefox.edu/offices/spirituallife/chapel
• Grace and Peace, • Your Friends in the Spiritual Life House

Mosaic Scholars: The Mosaic Scholars Program encompasses a trio of scholarships offered at George Fox: Act Six, Multicultural Leadership, and South Central scholarships. Recipients of these scholarships participate in a leadership development program that consists of ongoing meetings, training workshops, and mentorship that prepares them to actively contribute to the diversity dialogue and reconciliation efforts on campus.
Cultural Partners: This program is designed to match international students with American students to learn about global perspectives and differences between cultures. Through a regular meeting time, students share about their cultures and learn from each other, by gaining a broader cultural awareness by learning not only about another culture, but also by understanding their own culture from a different perspective as well!
Multi-Ethnic Organizations: Intercultural Life works in partnership with ASC to support student-led multi-ethnic organizations. These groups include Latino Heritage Club (LHC), Black Student Union (BSU), and Fusion (Asian-American). Other clubs available include Mu Kappa (third culture kids), Hawaii Club, and International Student Club.
Our office sponsors and coordinates a variety of one-time and ongoing events that enhance the education of our campus regarding issues of diversity, biblically based justice and reconciliation.
OUR MISSIONThe Office of Intercultural Life exists to serve students by creating and sustaining an active and engaging intercultural campus life. Through programs, events and resources, we are developing leaders who are able to be advocates for justice and reconciliation.
