COURSE OVERVIEW
This qualification is suitable for people working in a Work Health andSafety (WHS) role who provide leadership and guidance to others and have some limited responsibility for the output of others. Thequalification reflects the role of workers who apply a broad knowledgebase and well developed skills in a wide variety of contexts and mayinclude coordinators, advisors and facilitators.
The course covers important topic areas including compliance andlegislation, contributing to WHS consultation, hazard identification,risk control, risk assessment, incident response, WHS managementsystems and continuous improvement concepts.
The course is ideal if you wish to obtain the skills for a designatedWHS position or you are already working in a safety role and would liketo build on your skills and formalise them as a nationally recognisedqualification.
COURSE ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
There are no formal entry requirements or prefferd pathways into thisqualification. Additionaly there are no licensing or certification requirements from State or Federal licensing authorities.
Prospective learners who are employed and working in a WHS role or those who have previously studied WHS units, including the WorkingSafely in Construction (Whitecard), will be well suited to this program.
Students will need to pass a Language, Literacy and Numeracy test, beable to conduct research online and must have access to the internet athome or be able to access the internet away from class.

DURATION & STRUCTURE
The course structure allows you up to 10 months to complete theprogram during which time you will study using a combination of face toface in a classroom, combined with homework (distance) away from class.
You will complete 600 hours of study, including 5 days a week for 4 weeksin the classroom environment. Away from class you will work in your owntime conducting research and completing activities and assessment.
All learning and assessment materials required to work away from class are provided online through our student portal linked to our website. In addition you will receive materials in hard copy to work on in theclassroom.
Assessments are a combination of written work, oral questioning, groupbased observational activities and role play.
