l Heartbeat Test Fundamental

p The heartbeat is messages without responses

p Both the active and the standby BAMs send the heartbeat messages periodically

Installing the BAM Application l Obtain the Installation Information of the BAM Software

p Administrator password of Windows Server 2003

p Password for the user sa to log in to SQL Server 2000

p Fixed IP addresses of the internal and external networks

p BAM computer name


Installing the BAM Applicationl Remotely Logging In to the BAM

p Running mstsc.exe on a computer

p Choose Start > Run

p Enter mstsc /console and click OK

p Enter the external virtual IP address of the BAM for remote

login, and then click Connect

p Enter the name and password of an administrator-level user of

the BAM, and then click OK

p The files on the setup disk are copied to the BAM hard disk.
