Raise the arm over head.using the flat part of three fingers,palpate the breast beginning at thebreastbone or the outer edge,rotating the fingerson the chest wall around the breast.

The 7 P·s of Breast Self Examination (BSE)Position : Inspect breasts visually and palpate inthe mirror with arms at various positions. Then

For premenopausal women, BSE is best done atthe same stage of their period every month tominimize changes due to the menstrual cycle.
The recommended time is just after the end of the last period when the breasts are least likelyto be swollen and tender. Older, menopausalwomen should do BSE once a month, perhaps onthe first or last day of every month
