Brixham is a place where all visitors, whether staying or just visiting for the day, are made to feel very welcome but Brixham has a special place in its heart for the family.

Whether it’s fishing for crabs, discovering the content of a rock pool or building that very special sandcastle, all produce super smiles and sleepy heads.

Using up that boundless energy at Berry Head Country Park or swimming at our very own Shoalstone outdoor pool, all great holiday ideas that are totally FREE.

Because Brixham has so much free fun, you can budget for something a bit special such as a boat trip from the harbour. There are so many options to choose from with prices to suit all pockets and no trip to Brixham would be complete without a visit to our very own full sized pirate ship, The Golden Hind. Ideal for the young and young at heart.

During our many family friendly festivals, there are often great competitions, activity days and so much more which everyone can join in.

Take home happy memories and come back and see us soon!

Brixham is a place where history is present at every turn. So why don’t you take a look at our short quiz and become a Brixham History Hunter?

See if you can find the answers to the following questions.

What was the name of the king that landed in Brixham and started the 'Glorious or Bloodless Revolution'? His statue is on Brixham Harbourside.

Why do we have The Golden Hind in our harbour? You can pop on board to find out more or go and visit Brixham Museum.

Who built the amazing forts at Berry Head? Take a trip to Berry Head to find out all you need.

Why is All Saints Church, which is known as the Fisherman’s church, so famous? Listen to bells chime.

What great World War 2 event did Brixham play a part in? Take a trip up to Brixham Battery Museum to find out.

This is just a small taste of Brixham's amazing history and heritage, wherever you walk there is a story to be told or a fact to find. Happy hunting!

Take a look at the amazing new website www.brixhamheritagetrail.com and download the Official Heritage trail or, even better, install the Heritage Trail app, a must do for all visitors!

WKING

There are over 8.5 million dogs in Britain and the latest statistics say over 30% of people holiday with their loving furry friends - so why choose Brixham for you and your beloved pooch?

Both Brixham’s main hotels take dogs and so do a good selection of our B & B and self-catering accommodation. We offer something for all tastes and budgets.

Pubs, cafés and an ever increasing number of restaurants allow dogs either inside or at their outside tables so, even on Winter days, which are often mild and gloriously sunny, you can sit and watch the world go by without having to leave your furry friend behind.

DOG FRIENDLY BEACHES

Beaches that are dog friendly all year - Churston Cove, Fishcombe Cove, St Marys Bay, Man Sands and Shoalstone Beach.

DOG WALKINGYou will be hard pressed to find better walks than in Brixham and the surrounding area including Berry Head and Battery Gardens. We have plenty of open spaces where your dogs can have fun and stay safe. All we ask is that you please follow the CLEAN UP CODE.

Keep a look out on our Facebook page for posts and great 'Doggy Holiday' ideas from the Love Brixham Team.

FOOD & SHOPPINGFABULOUS FOOD

COMMODIONSLEEP, REST, RECHARGE

Shopping and eating... two great pastimes when on holiday or any time for that matter. Brixham will not disappoint on either count.

Food is everywhere you look, from top class cafés to an award winning sea food restaurant, with the emphasis on homemade and locally sourced ingredients.

Being a fishing port, our fish is as fresh as it can be and, if you have never sampled seafood, here is the place to do it.

Whatever takes your fancy, we have it in Brixham… And don’t worry we have some great walks to burn off all those extra calories!

Shopping is a joy in our beautiful town, not just because our shops are easy to access, but the fact that we offer such a diverse range, something for everyone.

Our streets contain some of your high street favourites alongside a great range of local independent shops which offer everything from beautiful local art to handmade crafts and so much more.

Make sure you buy some of our wonderful fresh fish, landed here in Brixham, not wrapped in plastic, truly local and truly delicious. Take your time, stroll up and down our small streets and you will discover all manner of glorious goodies just waiting for you to give them a new home!

Choosing to stay in Brixham is, in our opinion, a great decision. Not just because we offer such a wide range of places to stay but because you are able to become part of the community, if only for a short while.

Whether you are looking for a hotel with that special touch, a small and friendly B & B or a cosy guest house, we have a great selection to suit all budgets.

If you are looking for self-catering we can offer everything from a vibrant holiday centre to a quaint fisherman's cottage.

Whatever you choose and for however long you stay, you are very, very welcome.
