Blueberry Addition: This activity can be used in a variety of ways depending on the level of your child. You can add with just berries and counting the out. You can use berries and the corresponding numbers to write number sentences. You could even ditch the printable and use real berries Compare and Contrast: This is a great to get your learners thinking and stretching their brain. Read the book “Blueberries for Sal” Then complete the Venn Diagram together. Be sure the lead your child in the discussion to help them think of similarities and differences. How Do Blueberries…: This activity is a multi-sensory experience for little (and big) learners. Simply wash up some blueberries and talk about how they look, sound, feel, smell, and taste.

Blueberry ABC Matching: For this matching activity, you can use the tiles of letters I have included in this packet, or you can use tiles from a game or other alphabet manipulative. You could use this activity as a hide and find the letters match up, or simple put a few letters out at a time and have your learner match up the letters. Little Bear Color Patterns: This activity can be done with the paper bears included in this unit packet, or you can use counting bear math manipulatives. Have your learner create different patterns, lines, orders, and just let them organize the bears how it suites their fancy. Pattern Coloring: This is another way to make patterns if your learner prefers to color. Have them create many different patterns on the printable page included in this unit.

Color and Listen: Have your learner color the coloring page of Little Sal while you read the story to them, or have them listen to the story being read on YouTube. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0c467fQZVTw Little Bear Toast: Make some peanut butter toast and let your child make a bear face using bananas and blueberries. Blueberry Pancakes: Make your favorite pancake recipe or box mix pancakes and throw in some blueberries. I cut mine up into little pieces as my little learners don’t like chunks

Blueberry Bird Feeders: Even the birds can get in on some yummy blueberries with this activity You will need… -pipe cleaners -blueberries -circle cereal Slide one piece of cereal onto the pipe cleaner and make a bend to hold to cereal in place. This will make it so that the pieces do not slide off. Start filling the pipe cleaner. You could do a pattern, or just keep it random. Once the pipe cleaner is filled, twist the ends together. Hang it in a tree. Either by slipping the feeder onto a branch, or by tying it into the tree. Try hanging it somewhere you will be able to see birds come to eat from it.
