Starting Your Research

• Find the starting book for your paper using POLAR or OhioLINK.

• Narrow your paper using topics you would like to pursue further from your book.

• Use your book’s bibliography to find some starter sources.

• Explore Heterick Library’s catalog POLAR and OhioLINK’s catalog for book sources.

• Explore Heterick Library’s databases for journal and scholarly articles.

POLAR is the library’s catalog. POLAR opens to the BASIC (keyword) search. Keyword searching is great for beginning your research to get a big picture of what is available on your topic.

Fill in the request form, your name is both your first and last name and your barcode is all of the numbers from your ONU ID.

ATLA and the Religion and Philosophy Collection are Ebsco databases that contain materials pertaining to religion.
