The Noble Eightfold Path
• 1. Right Speech.
• Perfect speech is truthful. Avoid gossip and words that are hurtful.
• 2. Perfect Action.
• Always try to do the right thing. Show kindness to all living creatures.
3. Perfect Livelihood.Do work that is not going to harm
anyone, including animals.

4. Of the Eightfold pathPerfect
EffortPractice good thoughts and actions.
5. Perfect AwarenessBe always aware of what you are doing and the consequences for yourself and others.
6. Perfect Meditation. This helps to train the mind so that you become calm and in control
7. Perfect VisionThis is an understanding that life is changing all the time. We can’t find happiness in things that change.
8. Perfect Emotion
This is a person having the right attitude to life, showing good will to all.
The Three Jewels
• I go to the Buddha for refuge
• I go to the Dharma for refuge
• I go to the Sangha for refuge
Dharma= Teaching Sangha= Community

• I go to the Buddha for security, and trust and respect

Buddhists do worship in a Temple called a Vihara.

the people meditate and pray to the Buddha. They ask for help and ask for guidance in their daily life.

It has places of worship.
It has rules to follow
It has monks & nuns.
It has rituals & prayers
It has a belief that something happens after death.
In that respect it is like a religion.
Buddhism is not a religion but a way of life.
• They do not believe in a God.
• All other religions believe in a God.
• If you believe in not harming anything and living a peaceful life then you can be a Buddhist.
• It is not a complicated system.
• It depends how you define way of life.
