FeaturesOur single piece non-weld timber to masonryrange has been designed with a wide top flangeto increase loading capacity on masonry withcomprehensive crushing strength of 3.5N/mm2.Hangers 150mm deep or above aremanufactured with 10mm less to allow fornotching and regularisation of timber joists. All hangers are designed with a 75mm bearingsurface and pre-punched side gussets to allownail fixing into timber joist with 30mm x 3.75mmsherardised square twist nails. This product is CEmarked in accordance with the ConstructionProduct Regulations 2013.
Material specificationManufactured in line with Eurocode 5 and BS EN845-1:2013 standards, all hangers are made from2mm thick pre-galvanised steel to BS EN10346:2009, S280 + G275.
InstallationCare should be taken during installation, ensurethe back plate of the joist hanger is positionedflush against the supporting masonry, and aminimum of 675mm of cured masonry must bein position above the joist hanger flanges beforeany load is applied.
Timber joists should be cut square andpositioned at the back face of the hanger, withno more than a 6mm gap. Timber can be securedwith 30 x 3.75mm sherardised square twist nails,through individual pre-punched holes along theside gussets. It is advised that ceiling joists arenotched at the hanger base to achieve a levelsurface when using plasterboards.
Catnic heavy duty restraint straps must be usedwith all types of Catnic heavy duty joist hangersto provide lateral restraint, see page 00 for fullproduct range.
