Results• 2006 – 51 Low-to-Moderate Income Families received up to $3,000 down
payment assistance
• 2006 At least 42 previously unemployed Greensboro residents obtain FT employment through various partnerships
• Construction of a 2,200 square foot Community Center to reestablish displaced business after Hurricane Floyd
• Four Telecommunication Facilities placed in underserved communities and over 700 residents served
• Twenty-three young adults earned their GED and were placed in full-time employment or pursued post-secondary education degrees
• Real Property donated to NCA&TSU for community development in Southeast Greensboro
• Improved living conditions for more than 50 people though home repair
• To date over 3,500 LMI families in Southeast Greensboro have been empowered through vocational programs, education and housing initiatives, parenting programs, business development and job placement assistance
The Future
• Increase the number of minority sub-contractors
and skilled laborers through vocational skills and business development programs
• Assist in the renovation of a transitional living facility for homeless high school students
• Development of LMI housing in the target area• Increase the number of businesses in the BEST
Incubator from 5 to 11 minority owned business• Diversify funding sources
