A SEMINAR ON : BUILDING STRUCTURE AND THEIR COMPONENTS
PRESENTED BY
1)MR. ROHIT H. THAKARE
INDEX :-
1) INTRODUCTION 2) TYPES OF STRUCTURE 3) BUILDING COMPONENTS AND THEIR
FUNCTION 4) CONCLUSION5) REFERENCE
Introduction :-
Building is define as any structure for whatsoever purpose and of whatsoever materials constructed or every part of there for whether used as human habitation or not hand includes, a foundation ,a plinth and a super structure.
Based upon occupancy Building include based upon occupancy.
• Residential building
• Educational building
• Institutional building• Assembly building
• Business building
Types Of Structure
1) Load bearing structure 2) Framed structure 3) Composite structure
Load Bearing Structure : - In load bearing structure each wall is a structural
member and weight of slab is carried by the walls
and transferred to the foundation.
Framed Structure In framed structure the wall are not a structural
members They do not carry the weight of the slab.A network or frame made up of columns and beams
carried by the slab.
Composite Structure If part of building has framed structure and part of it has load bearing structure then it is called composite structure . Composite structure is mainly found when exertion or modification of existing building is done.
Building Components And Their Functions
1) Components of Sub structure : - foundation Plinth
Foundation for High Rise Buildings :The structure, that transmits the load of the building to the soil is known as Foundation for that Structure
Shallow Foundation
Deep Foundation
2. Component of Super Structure plinth floor walls roofs windows beams , column and slabs staircase lifts parapet
CONCLUSION• In the above presentation we see the
building structure and their components which is very essential for the construction of structure.
• The knowledge above the building components is helpful to know the varies in the components.
