ST. JOSEPH PARISH NEWSLETTER
SPRING 2019 BARDSTOWN, KENTUCKY
Dear Parishioners, We approach the Season of preparation for Easter. Lent is a special opportunity for Spiritual renewal and strength. The entire parish is encouraged to pray together during the week of March 10-16. Our children are preparing for Sacraments and the RCIA Candidates and Catechumens are anticipating Easter with Eucharist, Baptism, and the Holy Confirmation.
Now, is the time to respond to God’s call to open ourselves to His Grace. Don’t let Lent slip by without reaching out to God. Sincerely in Christ
Fr. Terry Bradshaw, Pastor
BUILT TO PRAY
God of mercy and source of all wisdom, we ask your blessing on our parish community now as we look over 200 years of encountering you in
Word, Sacrament and Service. May we share this time, as in the past, to pray, to gather, to plant and grow,
to honor and serve and share God’s love. We celebrate, sing and remember those who came before us.
We pray with gratitude. We pray that the forgotten be heard, outsiders be understood
and all people be treasured. We pray with gratitude.
We look to you, oh Lord, for your gracious assistance, now and in the future. We ask this through your Son, Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns forever and ever.
Amen.

Holy Week at the Basilica of St. Joseph Proto-Cathedral Palm Sunday, April 14
We remember today, the exalted entry of Our Lord into Jerusalem, as we too, bear palm branches and sing “Hosanna, blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.” But our exaltation is short-lived as the Passion of the Lord is proclaimed with cries that the same Lord must be crucified. These extremes, of Our Lord’s life, clearly set our minds to that week of the year we call Holy.
