The Hosts — The Williams Family Dwight and Michele Williams are both born and raised in Lennox & Addington County. Dwight owns a fencing and construction company that has 26 employees and services the eastern Ontario region. His wife Michele works part time as a nurse in the community and spends countless hours volunteering at their daughter Katie’s school.

Dwight is a guy who makes dreams into reality and Michele is always right there ready to support him (once she’s caught her breath again). Both are always up for a challenge, and in 2003 they took up a big one.

That year (2003), the very spot where Dream Lake sits, was farmland...until Dwight and Michele Williams decided to make their vision into reality; the same dream most die-hard water skiers have: a private lake! With a lot of hard work and heavy equipment, the lake was dug in 10 days and they were waterskiing in 37 days. The record fast build time and perfect site of Dream Lake drew the attention of Water Ski Magazine, who did a feature article on the lake. The lake sits on 170 acres of surrounding property to provide ample space for hosting an international event including on site camping.

The Williams have fully embraced the barefoot community and have enthusiastically invited us to host our National Barefoot Championships there, time and time again. Not only do they have the experience hosting tournaments at Dream lake, but also 350+ guest social events!

Banking, Taxes, and Tips All major credit cards are accepted.

Taxes — Visitors should remember that marked prices (at stores, restaurants, hotels, etc) customarily do NOT include tax. In Canada, tax on goods and services (now referred to as harmonized sales tax), is added at the register. In Ontario the rate is 13% (multiply your item total by 1.13 to determine what your total will be).

Tips — In Canada tips are not included in the bill total, and therefore are added above and beyond that amount. It is customary to tip 10-20% of the pretax total (eg. at restaurants). Note, some restaurants will add an amount to the bill for large parties (typically more than 6), based on a predetermined gratuity amount — further tip on top of this amount is not necessary as this replaces the usual tip.

Health Certificate and Visa Entry Requirements for Canada Traveling to Canada requires some countries to obtain an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) prior to traveling to Canada. (Electronic Travel Authorization - http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/visit/eta.asp)

Go to the link #1 below and answer the questions to determine if you need an eTA, or to link #2 for a full list of countries which require or are exempt from having an eTA:

**Please note that your eTA requirement may be different depending on whether you are flying or driving into Canada! Know your travel plans before and take a close look at the website to determine your need.**
