SACRAMENTAL INFORMATION

All Sacraments require a call or visit to the parish office for more information. Below are some notes for your benefit:

Baptism: Parents and Godparents are required to participate in a preparation process before Baptism of Children. Registration is required. If possible, it is recommended that all requirements be completed BEFORE the child’s birth.

Sick Calls: Please call the parish office if you or an immediate relative would like to receive the Eucharist or Anointing at home or in the hospital.

Confirmation: Requires a MINIMUM of two years participation in Parish Religious Education and thecandidate must be 14 years old. Contact Shannon Stowe at 479.361.2612.

Convalidations: This is the term for marriages getting “blessed” in the church. Most rules for “Weddings” apply for Convalidations.

Eucharistic Adoration: Tuesday 8:00am through Midnight Friday in the Chapel.

First Communion: Requires a MINIMUM of two years participation in Parish Religious Education. Candidates must be at least 7 years old. Contact Shannon Stowe at 479.361.2612.

Funerals: Please call the office immediately to spreparation.

Marriage Cases/Annulments: If you’ve divorced and are planning to re-marry, have already re-married, or are marrying / married to someone with that situation even if it was prior to being Catholic: Contact Pamela Castillow at 361-2612.

Reconciliation: ½ hour before all weekend Masses or by Appointment.

RCIA Classes: (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults)Buhr 479-524-8921 or 479-466-7776. RCIA is for those who are interested in becoming Catholic or those who may not have completed the sacraments of First Communion or Confirmation.

Weddings: A minimum of 6 months is required for marriage preparation. No outdoor weddings are permitted.

WHAT’S GOING ON AT ST. JOSEPH’S

St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Tontitown is seeking a candidate for a 40 hour per week position with benefits that would be a blend of Secretary and Bookkeeper work. Candidates should be detail oriented and be comfortable with QuickBooks, Microsoft Word and Excel. Applicants must be willing to work within parameters set by the Diocese and Pastor. Bulletin Ad Spaces Available: We have a few advertising spaces available on the back of our Bulletin. Each Ad is full color and runs for a whole year. Ads are $125.00 for each (approx 1"x1-1/2") space. Larger ads are multiples of that base rate. Funds from the ads help keep our Bulletin at a low cost to the Parish and are often a first source when parishioners seek goods and services! Baptism Preparation Class: Friday, July 15th at 6:30 PM in the Parish Education Center. Call or e-mail the Parish Office to register and get the appropriate forms. All parents and godparents are required at attend a class in order to proceed with the Baptism of their children. You do not have to wait until your sweet little bundle arrives to take the class but if you do wait, please make sure you can get someone to babysit! If we have no registrants by Thursday at 5:00 PM, we will cancel.

Child Care is available for those who wish to use it during the 9:00 am Sunday Mass. Participating children need to be taken to the Education Center and will need to fill out an information form.

A visit from Father Dhanraj before he goes back to India! Father Dhanraj was our Associate Pastor in 2009-10 and he will be back the weekend of July 2nd & 3rd to celebrate Masses with us! He is being recalled to India on July 6th, 2016 to continue his pastoral ministry! Fr Dhanraj is going to a new emerging parish in India. It has no church , no rectory or residence! He will also be responsible for three other parishes. His third parish is ten miles from the place where he will stay in a rented house!

Peter's Pence Collection, July 8-9: Our diocese will take up the Peter’s Pence Collection, which provides Pope Francis with the funds he needs to carry out his charitable works around the world. The proceeds benefit our brothers and sisters on the margins of society, including victims ooppression, and disasters. Join our Holy Father as a witness of charity to those who are suffering.

YOUNG ADULTS! The NWA Frassati Society is an energetic group, we have some members who have recently graduated from college and others who are well established already. Some are single and some married! There are different events throughout the year - some people come to mostly everything while others are only able to make a few events so there ipressure either way! We would love to have you join us sometime! Here is a brief summary of the different events that we host: Mondays: Bible study In Tontitown - St. Joseph's @ 7pm. Bible study is our most regular event and we meet almost weekly. Tuesdays: About once a month we meet at various locations for "Theology on Tap". At this event, we invite someone to speak on an issue - some recent issues have been the Supreme Court ruling on gay marriage, cohabitation, prayer, spiritual dry spells, etc. Thursdays: About once a month we meet at various restaurants for "Feast with Frassati". OZARK CATHOLIC CONFERENCE 2016 OZARK CATHOLIC CONFERENCE ~ A CALL TO SHARE AND LIVE GOD’S MERCY!: at St. Vincent De Paul Church on Saturday, August 6, and hosted by the Northwest Arkansas Deanery! Tying into the Jubilee Year of Mercy, the keynote talks and workshop presentations will center on God’s Mercy towards us and the mercy we are called to extend to others through the corporal and spiritual works. We welcome Dr. Edward Sri from Littleton Colorado with the Augustine Institute as our English speaking keynote presenter and Fr. Jose De Jesus Sanchez from California with the Archdiocese of Los Angeles as our Spanish speaking keynote presenter. You will have an opportunity to listen to both of these very engaging Catholic speakers and be encouraged and inspired by their message! The time of year is rapidly approaching for our parish to begin the preparations for the event that we have become famous for. This year will be the 118th Tontitown Grape Festival, a fact that we should all be very proud of. Our unique heritage has allowed us to come together every year and put on this event without a break for 118 years! Pat yourselves on the back and get ready to start again!
