Staff Exchange Visit to Moscow Some members of our staff along with other teachers in the
Arnewood Pyramid visited Moscow in Russia over the Easter break. This was part of a teacher and cultural
exchange that will see Russian teachers visiting here in July. The teachers paid for their visit independently in order to teach in a Russian school and learn about their education system. They were also able to enjoy the tourist
attractions as well. It was interesting to see the difference in philosophy and in
facilities. We look forward to reciprocating when the Russian
teachers visit here. A terrific learning experience and the kind of intellectual
curiosity we want from our staff.
Paediatric First Aid Session 7th June 7pm—9pm at Ashley Baptist Church. There are 12 FREE spaces available for this course. Places need to be booked by telephoning Ashley Infant School on 01425 611321
Specialist Coaching with Chance to Shine
The children in year 6 are getting a ‘Chance to Shine’ through cricket coaching provid-
ed by the programme of that name. The children will be benefiting from teaching by a
qualified coach. We hope they will take full advantage and maybe go on to participate
in the school club or join one of the local cricket clubs.
SAINSBURY’S
ACTIVE KIDS
VOUCHERS
We are still
collecting
Sainsbury’s
Active Kids
vouchers. Please
send your
vouchers into the
school office.
Please remember that children
should not be entering the
school site until 8.45am at the
earliest. The playground is
unsupervised before then
which puts your child at risk.
Staff outside Moscow University
Reading for Pleasure
The books that were donated on World Book
Day are being put to very good use. Children are
enjoying sitting on the field and in our new
seating area to enjoy a good read during their
break time. Thank you.
Netball Success
Congratulations to our netballers who received their medals this week for their terrific
performance in the New Forest League. The commitment shown by all the players in the squad
bodes well for the future. The photograph shows our ‘B’ team with their certificates and the ‘A’
team with their medals.
A Testing Week!
Along with the vast majority of pupils in their age
group across the country our year 6 children will
be sitting their national assessment tests next week.
They are very well prepared and some are even
looking forward to them!
A big thank you to Mrs. Fisk—the school cook and
governor- who will be prepar-
ing breakfasts for the chil-
dren at no cost. And also to
Max Thurnell-Read’s parents
who have made a significant
donation to the school to pay
for the food.
Aren’t we lucky to have such supportive people in
our school community?
Please can you ensure that your child’s name
is clearly and permanently written in their
items of clothing?
We are now using the field regularly for play
and the recent lovely sunshine has meant that
lots of items of uniform are lost and, without a
name, it makes life tricky.
Thank you.

Talking Mental Health
Many thanks to the Year 5 parents who joined us for
discussions around Mental Health. It is so important
that we discuss and share our ideas on this and it
was very good to work with parents.
Constructive Parent Views are crucial to us and help
us to do the best we can for the children. You should
receive today an analysis of the Parent Question-
naire held in March alongside
