HOLY YEAR OF MERCY

Lord Jesus Christ, in the Sacrament of the Eucharist You left us the outstanding manifestation of your limitless love for us.

Thank You for giving our children the opportunity to experience this love in receiving the Sacrament for the first time. May your Eucharist presence keep them ever free from sin, fortified in faith, pervaded by love for God and neigh-bor, and fruitful in virtue, that they may continue to receive You throughout life and attain final union with You at death. Amen ~ Amen.

Prayers at First Communion

The Rosary is prayed in the presence of the Blessed Sacrament Mass, Tuesday to Saturday before Mass.

Thank YouThe CWL would like to thank the parish for their overwhelming generosity during our bake sale last weekend. We raised just over $1100! Congratulations to Nida Sullivan, our raffle prize winner. We would not have reached this level of success without the donations of so many CWL members in the parish. Thank you for your support!

The Pope’s Pastoral Works The diocesan collection for The Pope’s Pastoral Works will be received on May 1.

MAY ROSARY The Knights of Columbus will sponsor the praying of the Rosary every Wednesday evening at 6:45 pm outside in front of the flower garden and the statues of the Blessed Mother and St. Bernadette. May 4, 11, 18 and 25. In case of inclement weather, we will move inside to the main foyer of the church, in front of the statue of the Blessed Mother. All are welcome to participate. God bless our parish family.

Sacraments

Our Lady Queen of Peace, Legion of Mary – This year throughout the Archdiocese of Kingston, the Legion of Mary members have chosen for their Spiritual Work of Mercy to pray for the living and dead. Our Lady Queen of Peace, the Legionary members from our Parish are joining the Parish Prayer Line and will be offering their prayers for all the intentions.

Correction to the 2016 Parish Update report presented last SundayThere was an error in the Pie Chart showing the source of the 2015 Receipts. The correct allocation is: Offertory 87%, Christmas and Easter 5%, Fundraising 3%, Miscellaneous 5%. All of the figures in the spreadsheet are correct; it is just the pie chart that has been affected by this error. We wish to thank the parishioner who noticed the error and notified us of his findings.

The Sacrament of the Sick – ideally celebrated in community, will be Thursday, May 12 at 2:30 pm. Those who are seriously ill, those of advanced age, those undergoing serious surgery or treatment and those in danger of death are invited. All baptized Catholics are candidates for the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick. Let us joyfully celebrate the healing of the Lord through His Church.

WANTED: Movers & RakersYou are invited to attend the annual spring clean-up of our Parish grounds on Saturday April 30 commencing at 9am. There is no charge and no entertainment … just good old-fashioned raking and bagging of debris accumulated on the lawn over the winter … and lots of self-satisfaction in keeping our grounds looking good! Your Property Committee

GOLDEN ANNIVERSARY PILGRIMAGE 2017 marks the Golden Anniversary of the founding of Our Lady of Lourdes Parish. Your 50th Anniversary Sub-Committee has been planning events to commemorate this important parish milestone. We will be travelling from October 10th to the 20th of 2017. The pilgrimage of thanksgiving will take us to Lourdes, the very place where Our Blessed Mother appeared to St. Bernadette. At Lourdes and the other destinations, we will offer our gratitude to Almighty God for the great blessings of the first fifty years of our beloved parish under the special patronage of Our Lady of Lourdes. For further info and details of this pilgrimage, please contact Anne Routhier at Maritime Travel:613-389-8170

Next Sunday there will also be tickets available for you to give to your friends so that they can also be included in this arrangement.
