Financial Planning Workshop on June 20, 2009 is

CANCELLED. The Office of Family Life and Adult

Christian Living is canceling the June 20, 2009 offering of

the Financial Planning Workshop due to the low number

of registrations. We hope to offer this program in the fall

when we believe that we will have greater participation.

Do you want to get in shape for summer? Are you

looking for something convenient and fun without

having to join a gym to exercise? Would you go if it is

FREE? Kay Everett is a certified group exercise instructor

who has started a free aerobics class that includes

cardiovascular work and muscle toning. The class is on

Monday’s from 5:00-6:00 PM in the Parish Life Center.

you are interested in participating.

There will be an informational meeting for all Interfaith

Hospitality Network volunteers on June 28th in the

school library. Please make plans to attend.

2009/2010 school year for Kindergarten through eighth

grades. If you would like to receive an application package

OUR LADY OF PERPETUAL HELP

SCHOOL NEWS Cooking with Books is July 13-17 for rising 1

st-3rd

graders. Have you ever curled up to read a book and

suddenly it made you hungry? What about Cloudy with a

chance or Meatball? Does it make you want to look

outside an open your mouth and what about Quiet Enough

Hot Dog? If you do then come read and enjoy some

favorite stories as we learn the fundamentals of cooking

that makes our tummies rumble using a cup of reading a

sprinkle of science and a pinch of math.

The OLPH football camp is the week of June 22-26.

Please make not of the date as it is listed wrong in the

Summer Camp Brochure. Football camp brochures are in

the vestibule.

Vacation Bible School is June 29-July 3 from 9:00-12:00.

this camp is for Pre K (4 year old)-rising 5th graders. The

theme is Power Lab it is an exciting scripture based

program that is fizzing with fun where kids will discover

Jesus’ miraculous power!

It is not to late to enroll in the Academic Enrichment

Programs, Fine Arts programs and VBS. Call Kathy

Friends: the development Office at Our Lady of Perpetual

Help Catholic School is looking for contact information

for anyone that attended OLPH School. Would you like to

help find your classmates? We want to have an Alumni

gathering/celebration at the end of the summer and we

Reading Rainbow Winners: OLPG School had 2 finalists

in the 15th Annual Reading Rainbow Young Writer and

Illustrators Contest. Mia Bertani placed 2nd in the 3

rd grade

level and Emma Booker placed 3rd for the kindergarten

Level. There were over 400 entries for the entire contest.

Way to go Mia & Emma.

The 5th grade class would like to thank the K of C for their

help in the recycling project and the planting of trees on

OLPH Campus. Many thanks to Larry McInturff & Alan

Greenwell for their help & support.

Health Ministry

Be Careful When Eating Out! Be aware of the amount of

sodium in typical meals served by leading restaurants,

especially if you need to limit your salt intake because of

health problems. Even those who are healthy should limit

intake to around 2500 mgs of salt a day. According to a

recent study by the Center for Science in the Public Interest

here are some of the saltiest meals in America: Red

Lobster's Admiral Feast, Caesar's Salad, Creamy Lobster

mashed potatoes, Cheddar Bay biscuit, and lemonade: 7106

mg of Sodium Chili's Honey-Chipotle Ribs, Mashed

Potatoes with Gravy, Seasonal Vegetables, and a Dr.

Pepper: 6440 mg of Sodium Denny's Double

Cheeseburger, onion rings, and Tomato Juice: 5540 mg of

Sodium Dairy Queen's Spicy Chili, Side Salad w/Fat Free

Ranch Dressing, and Mountain Dew: 4500 mg of Sodium

Catholic Charities Office of Immigrant Services provides

low cost immigration legal assistance for those who cannot

afford an attorney. Services include status adjustments

petitioning for family members citizenship and

naturalization and translation services. The program is

accredited by the U.S. Bureau of Immigration Appeals. For
