Dominicana abrió con triunfo sobre Surinam

LA HABANA, Cuba, 21 de mayo, 2014.- LA SELECCIÓN DOMINICANA abrió con victoria

sobre Surinam 3-0 en la apertura del Torneo Clasificatorio NORCECA Grupo P del

Campeonato Mundial Masculino de Voleibol de la FIVB con sede en Polonia en

septiembre próximo.

En la Ciudad Deportiva, los dominicanos ganaron con parciales de 25-15, 25-19 y 25-21,

el último más reñidos al bajar el nivel y los surinameses llegar delante en ambos tiempos

técnicos (4-8 y 13-16), pero lograron un rally de saques para cerrar con éxito.

José Miguel Cáceres con 16 puntos fue el máximo anotador, escoltado por Elvi Contreras

y Germán Recio, ambos con 10 , mientras por los adversarios Roberto Joval y Keven

Sporkslede solo llegaron a siete tantos cada uno.

Jose Ángel Cutiño, entrenador de Dominicana, explicó que todavía su equipo no ha

engranado su máquina, "pero reconozco que ya en estos últimos días con ellos hemos

logrado más unidad, ya se ven los resultados, pero todavía falta".

Por su parte, el capitán Wilfrido Hernández reconoció que no estuvieron muy bien porque

ahora es que se acoplan, "en el tercero nos confiamos y tuvimos esa baja, pero nosotros

tenemos más de lo que demostramos hoy".

Jerry Slijngard, entrenador de Surinam, no ocultó que su deseo era ganar, "vimos que era

Dominican Republic open with victory over Surinam HAVANA, Cuba, May 21, 2014 – Dominican opened the FIVB Men’s World Championship NORCECA Pool P with a 3-0 victory over the squad of Surinam at Ciudad Deportiva Coliseum on Wednesday. The Dominicans did not have any difficulty to beat their rivals 25-15, 25-19, 25-21, being the third set the closest one as the Surinamese squad was ahead after both technical time-outs (4-8 and 13-16). Cuba superó a Barbados sin dificultades

LA HABANA, Cuba, 21 de mayo 2014- La selección de Cuba no tuvo problemas para

superar a Barbados en sets corridos en el partido de cierre de la jornada inaugural del

Torneo Clasificatorio NORCECA, grupo P, del Campeonato Mundial Masculino de

Polonia, que tiene como escenario la Ciudad Deportiva.

El choque transcurrió con parciales de 25-18, 25-19 y 25-14 en 64 minutos, durante el

cual su entrenador Rodolfo Sánchez envió a la cancha a todos sus jugadores, de quienes

valoró que "comenzaron muy tensos porque siete de ellos no tienen estas experiencias,

pero sé que demostrarán lo que pueden hacer".

"La victoria siempre alegra y me gustó la actitud de mi equipo, pero siempre uno quiere

más porque hemos entrenado muy fuerte, pero confío de que mañana jugarán mejor",

apuntó.

El opuesto Rolando Cepeda fue el máximo anotador del encuentro con 15 puntos, en

tanto el central Isbel Mesa (13), mientras de sus contrarios ninguno pudo sobrepasar las

cinco unidades .

El propio capitán local manifestó que "pienso que cumplimos porque ganamos en tres

parciales y creo que cometimos mucho menos errores que cuando jugamos en México la

rendimiento en el último set. "Cuba desarrolló un juego más táctico y nosotros no

Su capitán, Alain London, reconoció la velocidad de los cubanos "y no pudimos detener
