Canadian Baptist Ministries Prayer Line (as of October 2, 2012)

Democratic Republic of Congo The situation continues to be tense. Rebel militia are taxing all vehicles passing through the territory they occupy outside the town of Goma, where eight people have been killed in the last week, either by the rebels themselves, or by bandits. The funds sent by CBM have helped the displaced people who were living in church schools, by settling them in the organized camps, where church personnel are continuing to help them. Please pray for all the helpless who have suffered and continue to suffer, asking the Prince of Peace to intervene on their behalf.

Lebanon The latest news from Lebanon is definitely an item for praise. God has intervened once again and the Arab Baptist Theological Seminary has received pre-approval for all the new foreign students who attend from across the Arab world. Praise God for this annual answer to prayer, and continue to pray for peace to replace the current violent outbreaks that mark the re-gion. Pray also for the Church to be strong and bold to provide a prophetic voice despite the circumstances.

MACK FAMILY UPDATE Martin and Anne Mack and family have been appointed to serve in Nepal with Interserve Canada. The Macks were scheduled to leave St. John’s for Nepal on October 6th. You can learn more about their ministry through their web-site www.totallyinternational.com
