A HUGE STEP FORWARDNever Again Education Act Introduced in the Senate“Hadassah led the effort ... to garner sponsors for the bill,” writes JTA (Jewish Telegraphic Agency) about the BIPARTISAN SENATE INTRO-DUCTION OF THE NEVER AGAIN EDUCATION ACT on July 11. Hadassah played a key role in garnering support around the country and on Capitol Hill for the bipartisan legislation’s introduction in Senate and the House, as quoted in the Senate press release.“This bill is urgent,” said Hadassah Na-tional President Ellen Hershkin and CEO/Executive Director Janice Weinman. “Holocaust education programs are im-portant at reducing extremism, hate and bigotry against all people.” The bill was introduced by U.S. Senators Jacky Rosen (D-NV), Kevin Cramer (R-ND), Marco Rubio (R-FL), and Richard Blumenthal (D-CT). Let’s celebrate. Then let’s keep the pressure up until the bill is signed into law!

The next Book Club Luncheon is set for OCTOBER 16 (location TBD). The selected book is Memento Park by Mark Sarvas.

This is a story of a second generation Hungarian American’s attempt to reclaim a valuable painting. The painting may have been looted from his father’s family in Budapest during World War II. This book is part history, part mystery and deals with heritage, faith, fatherhood and complica-tions of confronting the past.
