WE ARE A SACRIFICIAL GIVING PARISH “Do not worry about tomorrow; tomorrow will take care of itself.” -

Matthew 6:34 Jesus tells us that we cannot serve two masters. In many ways, worry is the other master in our lives. We worry about our job, our house, our family and our health. We worry about our future plans, our dreams and goals. We worry about measuring up, meeting expectations and keeping up with the neighbors. Today, God gives us a very soothing message. Do not let worry rule your life. Put God first and He will take care of everything else.

FAITH FORMATION STAFF

DON’T BE ANXIOUS People have, it seems, a natural penchant for misplaced emphasis on important things. They can easily get caught up with what they’re having for dinner or what they will wear. Often it is a tragedy that helps people to refocus on what is really important. What I shall wear is an irrelevant question when I am facing surgery or

chemotherapy. What’s for dinner is immaterial to those living through grief or unemployment. In today’s Gospel, Jesus tells us not to worry. He doesn’t say, “Don’t eat. Don’t cook. Don’t buy clothes.” He says, “Don’t worry.” Jesus asks us not to relinquish our responsibilities but to let go of our anxiety. Anxiety betrays a lack of trust and Jesus reminds us that “Your heavenly Father knows” all that you need (Matthew 6:32). © Copyright, J. S. Paluch Co.

The recent shootings in St. Petersburg reminded us that blood must be on the shelf at all times.

Thank you donors for making that possible and replen-ishing the supply when it’s needed most!

We are proud to report that we far surpassed our goal and collected a total of 51 pints at our last Blood Drive! This is the most number of pints collected since April 2009!

chel on Tuesday, March 1, 2011 from 6:30 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the Catholic Charities office located at 2021 E. Busch Blvd. Tampa, FL. Please call Emma at 813-924-4173 to register.

HAPPILY MARRIED COUPLES: Life has a way of overwhelming a marriage: jobs, kids, activities, errands. Before you know it, checking your e-mail is more important than setting up a date night. When you arrive for the weekend, you’ll step away from daily life. Cell phones are turned off. To-do lists are forgotten and you’ll find a warm, engaging environment that’s all about making progress in your marriage. The Worldwide Marriage Encounter program is the largest pro-marriage organization in the world, taking place in over 90 countries, and has over 40 years of experience. The WWME experience is NOT a large counseling session, and you are not asked to participate in any small group. Rather, you learn marriage-changing principles from three Catholic couples and a Catholic priest that you can take home, apply to your daily lives, that will strengthen your marriage and increase the depth of your levels of romance and intimacy. The next available WWME weekend in this diocese is March 4-6, 2011. For information call (813) 270-7832 or go on-line at www.wwme-tampabay.org

Él no dice: “No coman. No cocinen.
