Last day of Term 2
Dear Year 3 and Year 5 Parents
As you are aware, Tuesday was the first day of NAPLAN, which our school is doing online.
Unfortunately some connectivity issues were experienced during the test and these issues
are currently being investigated.
While this isn’t ideal, please be assured we have procedures to follow to minimise any
impacts on our students, including rescheduling the test if required.
National test authorities have advised they regret any inconvenience this has caused to
schools and students, and are working to rectify the issue as soon as possible.

PEER SUPPORT
Week 2 –
Cooperating and
Listening
During Peer Support next week the children
will look at qualities their friends may have
and the concept that we choose friends
based on the qualities we admire in them.
They will also explore the skills of friendship,
specifically those of cooperating and
listening.
During the week encourage your child to
show they are interested in the person they
are talking to by being an active listener.

Latest news
P&C meeting
We held our first P&C meeting for Term 2 this week - thanks to
everyone who came along and we were done in record time!
Our fundraising ideas include a Colour Run at the end of the
year, and we are about to commence organising the Spring
Fair. Don’t forget that the next P&C meeting will be held in
Week 9, 25th June - due to the Choral Festival being held in
Week 8. Everyone welcome!
Mother’s Day stall - thank you
A HUGE thank you to every volunteer who came along and
helped us with the Mother’s Day stall last week. We hope the
students enjoyed buying something special for all the special
women in their lives!
Federal Election BBQ & Art Auction this Saturday
Who is ready for a Democracy Sausage?
The Federal Election is on this Saturday 18th
May and once again we’ll be feeding the
hungry punters and raising money for our
school.
We will also be holding a silent Art Auction on
the day, with student artworks on display and
up for grabs to the highest bidder. They will be
on display in the Library from 8:30am ready for
bids!
Can you help - PLEASE?
We urgently need some more helpers and it would be great to see a few new faces joining
us to sell some snags and raise some funds for our school. Please visit https://
www.signupgenius.com/go/30e0549aea62ba0fc1-election3 to sign up for a shift. We will be
running from 8am - 3pm - and you are welcome to bring the kids down (young ones won’t
be allowed close to the actual BBQ).

Stay in touch
There’s lots of ways to keep up with the latest school and P&C
news. Have you liked us on Facebook yet? Also, don’t forget
to download the free BPS Skoolbag app, which is another
great source of BPS news. Finally, the school website bungendore-p.schools.nsw.gov.au is
the central hub for all essential student information.
Canteen news
The BPS Canteen is fully managed and operated by the P&C, with any profits made going
straight back into the school to help fund ongoing education resources and programs for
students. Please feel free to pop in and see our wonderful Canteen Co-ordinator Malisa if
you ever have any feedback or suggestions about the menu. Watch out on Flexischools
for some new winter menu items from the 3rd June and new weekly specials too.
For any Year 6 students wanting to assist, please see Malisa and she can provide a
permission form for parents to complete. We already have some students starting this
week! Good luck!
Lunch orders are available every school day, and can be placed at the Canteen before
school (EFTPOS available) or online via https://www.flexischools.com.au/.
Uniform shop news
Winter tunics are now in stock. We are also waiting for our winter pants that should arrive in
July. We also have some new hats that will be trialled in the coming weeks. Come into the
shop and see Lindsay and her friendly team of volunteers to try on sizes for these and all
our other winter items.
The Uniform Shop is open every Friday afternoon from 2.45 - 3.30pm.
Can’t make it in on a Friday? You can also download the order form from the school
website and send into the school office or email to [email protected].
Our volunteers process these orders on Fridays and leave at the school office for collection
or deliver to your child’s classroom by prior arrangement. We accept cash, credit card
and EFTPOS.
Joke of the week
Q: Why did the math book look so sad?
A: Because it had so many problems.
Hints & Hacks
Need some peace and quiet? Place sticky tape over the
speakers on your kids' toys to lower the volume (this also
works for devices - use over the volume control or the
speakers).
