    ELECTRICAL REQUIREMENTS

CAUTION - The brewer must be disconnected rom the power source until specied in Initial Set-Up.

The brewer has an attached cordset and requires 2-wire grounded service rated 120 volts ac, 15 amp, singlephase, 60 Hz.

Electrical Hook-Up (Model "B" Only)CAUTION Improper electrical installation will damage electronic components.1. An electrician must provide electrical service as specied.

    2. Using a voltmeter, check the voltage and color coding o each conductor at the electrical source.3. Place the heater switch, located on the let ront o the control panel on "B" Models, in the "OFF" (lower)

position.4. Remove the ront panel beneath the sprayhead.5. Feed the cord through the strain relie and connect it to the terminal block.6. Connect the brewer to the power source and veriy the voltage at the terminal block beore proceeding. Re-

    place the ront panel.

    INITIAL SET-UP

CAUTION - The brewer must be disconnected rom the power source throughout the initial set-up, except whenspecied in the instructions.

    1. Insert an empty unnel into the unnel rails.2. Place an empty decanter under the unnel.3. On "B" Models, place the heater switch o the brewer in the "OFF" (lower) position and connect the brewer to

the power source.4. Pour three pitchers o tap water into the screened area on top o the brewer. Allow approximately two minutes

between pitchers or water to fow into the tank. While the third pitcher o water is entering the tank, the tankwill ll to capacity and the excess will fow rom the sprayhead, out o the unnel, and into the dispenser.

    5. When the fow o water rom the unnel stops, place the heater switch o the brewer in the "ON" (upper) posi-tion and wait approximately twenty minutes or the water in the tank to heat to the proper temperature. Somewater will drip rom the unnel during this time; this is due to expansion and should not occur thereater.

    6. Pour one pitcher o tap water into the screened area on top o the brewer.7. Ater water has stopped fowing rom the unnel, allow the water in the tank to reheat to the proper tem-

perature.8. Empty the decanter. The brewer is now ready or use in accordance with the coee brewing instructions.

"B" models require 2-wire,grounded service rated 100 voltsac, 20 amp, single phase, 50 Hz.Proceed as ollows:

    1. Insert a BUNN lter into the unnel.2. Pour the resh coee into the lter and level the bed o grounds by gently shaking.3. Slide the unnel into the unnel rails.4. Place an empty dispenser beneath the unnel.5. Pour one pitcher o tap water into the screened area on top o the brewer.

    6. When brewing is completed, simply discard the grounds and lter.

    CLEANING

    1. The use o a damp cloth rinsed in any mild, non-abrasive, liquid detergent is recommended or cleaning alsuraces on Bunn-O-Matic equipment.

    2. Check and clean the sprayhead. The sprayhead holes must always remain open.3. With the sprayhead removed, insert the deliming spring (provided) all the way into the sprayhead tube

When inserted properly, no more than two inches o spring should be visible. Saw back and orth ve or sixtimes.

NOTE In hard water areas, this may need to be done daily. It will help prevent liming problems in the breweand takes less than a minute.

    TROUBLESHOOTING

A troubleshooting guide is provided to suggest probable causes and remedies or the most likely problemsencountered. I the problem remains ater exhausting the troubleshooting steps, contact the Bunn-O-MaticTechnical Service Department.

Inspection, testing, and repair o electrical equipment should be perormed only by qualied service person-nel.

All electronic components have 120 volt ac and low voltage dc potential on their terminals. Shorting oterminals or the application o external voltages may result in board ailure.

Intermittent operation o electronic circuit boards is unlikely. Board ailure will normally be permanent. Ian intermittent condition is encountered, the cause will likely be a switch contact or a loose connection at aterminal or crimp.

Solenoid removal requires interrupting the water supply to the valve. Damage may result i solenoids areenergized or more than ten minutes without a supply o water.

The use o two wrenches is recommended whenever plumbing ttings are tightened or loosened. This willhelp to avoid twists and kinks in the tubing.

Make certain that all plumbing connections are sealed and electrical connections tight and isolated. This brewer is heated at all times. Keep away rom combustibles.

WARNING Exercise extreme caution when servicing electrical equipment. Unplug the brewer when servicing, except when electrical tests are specied. Follow recommended service procedures Replace all protective shields or saety notices
