I’d like to thank Miss Taylor in particular who provided excellent musical direction for our Carol Service giving up most of her lunchtimes over the last few weeks to ensure everyone was perfectly in tune. On Tuesday evening we gathered in the church to hear a lovely retelling of the Christmas story written by our Year Sixes with carols, songs, poems and musical performances added to enhance the experience. Lots of parents commented on how nice it was to ring the changes a little and take a slightly more upbeat approach to things. On Wednesday afternoon we met at the church once again for the Reception and KS1 children’s performance of ‘The Nativity’ which demonstrated how confident even our youngest children can be with a bit of help from their teachers and friends. It was clear that all the children enjoyed the opportunity to dress up, sing loudly and have their moment of fame on the stage! I know it was enjoyed greatly by the audience too.

A FABULOUS Week!!

What a treat it has been this week to see our

children singing, dancing, acting, playing instru-

ments and reciting poems. I have had lots of lovely

feedback from parents who have really

appreciated the hard work and enthusiasm shown

by both staff and pupils which has made our

performances so special. I’d like to thank Miss

Taylor in particular who provided excellent musical

direction for our Carol Service giving up most of

her lunchtimes over the last few weeks to ensure

everyone was perfectly in tune.

The week began with the very cutest of all

performances from the Nursery—though I am not

sure I have recovered from Mrs Wilcox’s

Christmas version of ’Baby Shark’!

On Tuesday evening we gathered in the church to hear a lovely retelling of the Christmas story written by

our Year Sixes with carols, songs, poems and musical performances added to enhance the experience. Lots

of parents commented on how nice it was to ring the

changes a little and take a slightly more upbeat

approach to things.

On Wednesday afternoon we met at the church once again

for the Reception and KS1 children’s performance of ‘The

Nativity’ which demonstrated how confident even our

youngest children can be with a bit of help from their

teachers and friends. It was clear that all the children

enjoyed the opportunity to dress up, sing loudly and have

their moment of fame on the stage! I know it was enjoyed

Circus Skills and Magic Show

We are heartily grateful to the PSA for arranging a fan-

tastically exciting day on Thursday. All the children at-

tended a Circus Skills Workshop during the day learning to

juggle, spin plates and lots more besides.

At the end of the day the majority of children stayed on

to enjoy the Magic Show which left them amazed but not

as amazed as when they witnessed the

incredible fire dancing display performed by one of our

Nursery Parents—or should I say Woodland Fairy—in the

playground once the magician had finished his

performance. Thank you to all our parents who gave up

their time to make this such a fun Christmas treat for all!

Bures Panto 2018

From the 6th to the 8th of December, Elsie , Erin,

Poppy, Lilly-May and Evie were in the Bures pantomime -

’Humpty Dumpty’.

It was an amazing experience for us all. We had some

late nights but still got our homework done! It took 3

months to prepare for the big days and we had lots of

solo lines and group lines to learn. We were all citizens,

except Evie who was a news boy. It was all great fun—

we ‘eggspecially’ enjoyed all the egg jokes.

Just a reminder that it is Christmas Jumper day on Tuesday. These are to be worn with uniform.

Each class has a specific day and time allocated for their party when party clothes can be worn. Teachers

will be informing parents directly regarding their children’s party day.

Lost Property

All lost property will be displayed in the playground on Monday and Tuesday after School.

Any unclaimed items will be disposed off at the end of term.

PSA NEWS

Christmas Magic Show and Fire Display

Our children's Christmas event was a huge success, with over 80% of children joining us for a fan-

tastic Magic Show and an amazing Fire Display. A huge thank you to Claire Brammer (who very

kindly did her show free of charge) and to Mr Bean Entertainments for putting on such wonderful

festive entertainment for us. The event raised £500 for the school, which will be used to pay for

the circus skills workshops that the children also enjoyed during the school day yesterday.

Waitrose Bag Pack

Members of the PSA team, along with many children and parents, will be fundraising at Waitrose in

Sudbury on Sunday morning. If you are in Sudbury then, please do come along and support us.
