Online or Classroom Format

UC Berkeley Extension offers this professional certificate in both classroom and online environments. An ideal match for those unable to attend traditional classes, the online format offers the flexibility to take courses on your own schedule from anywhere in the world. Courses offered in both class-room and online environments are interchangeable, and you are free to enroll in courses of each format.

Prerequisites for Admission

There are no formal requirements for the Certificate Program in Business Analysis. However, it is strongly recom-mended that you have at least four years of professional experience and familiarity with business operations. If you intend to sit for the CBAP® or other IIBA® exam at a later time, you must also meet the requirements of the IIBA in order to take the exam.

Curriculum and Completion Requirements

The curriculum comprises 4 required courses for a total of 10 semester units (150 hours of instruction). Candidates must pay a nonrefundable certificate registration fee.

You must take all courses for a letter grade. To receive the certificate, you must maintain an overall minimum 2.0 grade point average, with a grade of C or better in each course. A Certificate with Distinction will be awarded to those who complete the certificate with a GPA of 3.7 or higher.

All coursework must be completed within five years of registering for the certificate. However, requirements may be updated based on new developments in the field of study; we recommend completing the curriculum in a timely fashion.

How to Register for the Professional Certificate

Register for the Certificate Program in Business Analysis at extension.berkeley.edu/cert/register.html. Click on the More Information button next to the certificate title to begin the registration process. Complete your student account profile if you are a new student, and pay the nonrefundable certificate registration fee.

You may enroll in individual courses without registering for the Certificate Program in Business Analysis.
