Frustrating process: criteria slow to emerge Nationally, 450-plus bids submitted:
50 successful (£450m) £2.5 billion private sector investment 28,000 direct & 97,000 indirect jobs
5 bids successful in West Mids £108 million 6,200 (22%) direct / 35,000 (36%) indirect jobs
RGF Round 1 (ii)
Our LEP will receive 19% of allocation: A45: £15.7 million JLR R&D/apprenticeship bid: £70 million
75% failed on technical grounds e.g. State Aid; Green Book. Projects can re-bid into Round 2.
RGF – Round 2
Main bidding round – nearly £1 billion allocated Specific bidding criteria available on www.bis.gov.uk/rgf LEPs expected to play active role Open to projects/project packages/programmes that create
jobs/growth e.g. Stimulate sustainable private sector activity Remove barriers to private sector growth Minimum £1 million RGF assistance.
