The castle estate has 36 acres of stunning grounds and gardens, itself surrounded by 12,000 acres of Lord Inchcape’s Glenapp Estate, providing an exclusive and relaxing five red star location for your business meeting or event. The peaceful setting is complemented by an exceptional level of unobtrusive and efficient service that is recognised internationally.

You will be given your own conference organiser who will help you plan every aspect of your stay in detail. Working behind the scenes we have an expert team accustomed to managing a wide variety of local, national and international conferences to the highest standards. Our experience in this field will give you the peace of mind to focus on your business agenda and not the organisational detail of off-site meetings.

Depending on the size of your group, we can offer a choice of elegant rooms for your main meeting and a range of break-out rooms for smaller groups.

Glenapp is an ideal place to escape the routine of the office and develop plans and strategies in a beautiful environment. The many activities available at the castle can be organised as teambuilding events. The castle is also available

for corporate and incentive groups as well as a wide range of cultural events.

The hotel is able to host events for up to 200 guests or delegates with a marquee sited on the castle lawns.

MEETING SUPPORT

For residential events Glenapp has 17 luxurious and spacious suites and bedrooms (20 from April 2017), each individually

furnished with a unique combination of fabrics, art and antiques. For larger groups, up to 40 further delegates are able to be

accommodated in private, five star, cottages nearby, with the hotel providing services for an additional fee and with complimentary

transfers to and from the castle.

ACCOMMODATION

We have an award-winning restaurant, with an exceptionally creative kitchen team, who prepare the very best locally sourced

ingredients. Naturally, they can cater for all types of diets and allergies with informal, formal and fine dining options available.

For conferences of three or more nights, we can recommend some wonderful off-site dining options such as the Robert Burns

Birthplace Museum in Ayr, Dumfries House in Cumnock or the Eisenhower Suite at Culzean Castle.

At Glenapp we are able to organise almost any activity you can think of to engender competition or collaboration and team work.

Here are just some of the activities where we have designed a programme to engage business teams.

ARCHERY Tuition is provided for your own competition in the castle grounds.

CLAY PIGEON SHOOTING Education in gun craft and shooting techniques with a local expert (available for exclusive hire arrangements only).

DARK SKIES STARGAZING Galloway Forest is one of just a handful of Dark Skies Parks in Europe – marvel at the clear view of the heavens and learn the secrets of the stars and galaxies from our local astronomer.

MOUNTAIN BIKING A variety of courses to suit all ages and abilities around the castle grounds and into the surrounding countryside.

FISHING OFF THE WEST COAST Take to the seas to catch your own lunch or dinner - mackerel, bass, hake and plaice are just a few of the fish available and we will happily prepare and cook it for you on the boat.

MINI HIGHLAND GAMES Your own highland games in miniature – a hugely entertaining event from caber tossing and hammer throwing to tug-of-war and highland dancing. We organise the whole event for your team (available for exclusive hire arrangements only).

ADVENTURES BY BOAT The hotel has its own boat which can be chartered to take guests on a whole range of adventures.

WHISKY TOUR We will take you on a journey to Islay for lunch and a personally curated tour of a distillery to sample the produce. Alternatively, close to the castle the Rattray Whisky Experience is an ideal place to learn about the history and of course test the flavours.

PICNIC LUNCH ATOP AILSA CRAIG Take to the sea and take in the wild life - basking sharks, dolphins and seals as well as the many thousands of sea birds may be seen on a journey to the top of the iconic Ailsa Craig. Enjoy a sumptuous picnic lunch and spectacular views.

FALCONRY DISPLAY Spectacular birds of prey are put through their paces on the lawns of the castle, a truly amazing display.

GOLF The array of courses is almost overwhelming -Turnberry, Troon, Prestwick, Western Gailes or even a trip across the bay to Machrihanish on the Mull of Kintyre - we can book your tee times and transport you to and from the course of your choice.

SALMON FISHING The River Stinchar enjoys an excellent reputation for salmon and trout fishing for the seasoned angler but if you haven’t tried fly fishing before we can organise lessons from a local expert.

MASTERCHEF CHALLENGE (Up to eight participants) – With our own chefs setting the tasks and guiding your team in professional kitchen techniques.

WOODLAND FORAGING Do you know your Hairy Bittercress from your Lady’s Smock? If you have ever had ambitions to understand more about the plants and wildlife of the woodlands, join us for a foraging expedition where the experts can show you what you can eat and what you really should avoid.

DELEGATE PACKAGE

To minimise our impact on the environment Glenapp Castle has a policy of sourcing its produce from small scale local suppliers.

We use fresh seafood landed at Girvan harbour and nearby farms for high quality meats.

The castle also grows a large proportion of the fruit, vegetables and herbs used in its kitchen.

DIRECTIONS

BY ROAD:

Arriving from the north, the castle is one and a half hours south of Glasgow by car, taking the M77 then A77, and two and a half hours south west of Edinburgh taking the M8 then M77/A77.

From the south and east, the castle is approximately two hours west of the M6 at Gretna Green, taking the A75, then A77.

BY AIR:

The castle is a one and a half hours drive from the main Glasgow International Airport hub and an hour from Glasgow Prestwick Airport, which has frequent daily flights to Dublin and many other European destinations such as Paris (Beauvais), Barcelona, Milan, Rome and Hamburg.

We are happy to arrange airport transfers by taxi, executive saloon, MPV or limousine. Helicopter transfers are also available, as is car hire.

BY SEA:

The castle is located on the South Ayrshire coast and is only a 15-minute drive from the Port of Cairnryan which has ferry routes to and from Belfast and Larne with a journey time of approximately 2 hours.

BY RAIL:

Glenapp is one hour and thirty minutes from Glasgow’s main railway hubs. Guests can venture further by rail to Ayr, only one hour from the castle or even to Girvan, a twenty minute drive away.
