• Provide updated and refreshed Operational and CIS Capabilities including applications, technical services, core services and communications services

• Enables the NATO Enterprise to refresh and enhance its CIS security services, thereby contributing to the secure operation of the NATO Enterprise's CIS infrastructure. This is anticipated to provide the capability until 2028

• Facilitates the implementation of best of breed capabilities to cover emerging and current threats and to provide a sustainable support model for those services

• Provide enhancements for existing services to provide New Cyber Defence capabilities for the new IT Modernisation Programme

• Provide enhanced situational awareness and decision support, and enhanced event analysis

Key Management

• Provide interoperability standards available to nations for systems (key management, crypto equipment and keying) and services (IP encryption, secure voice and link encryption)

• Deliver capabilities in line with NATO adopted standards that are algorithm agnostic, allowing support of modern algorithms as they are adopted

• Establishes a catalogue of approved cryptographic services in support of confidentiality, integrity, digital signature and non-repudiation – inclusive of interoperability standards, algorithms and supporting hardware and software implementations

• Utilises the minimum number of cryptographic (hardware and software) implementations to simplify and reduce the cost of acquisition and operations, which maximizes the ability to quickly adapt to evolving operational scenarios

• Initiates a fully-fledged Key Management System (KMS) with “over-the-air” keying capabilities for specific crypto families
