SUPPORT YOUR HOST TOWNWHAT IS SPECIAL OLYMPICS WORLD GAMES? The 2015 World Games will be the largest event hosted by Los Angeles since the 1984 Olympic Games. The venues will be world-class, including Special Olympics Athlete Villages at USC and UCLA, and a star-studded Opening Ceremony on July 25, 2015 at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. Arriving from all corners of the world, 7,000 athletes competing in 25 sporting events, will take the global stage in Los Angeles and show the world incredible courage, unwavering determination, and sheer joy. By living out their dreams in front of the world, they will open hearts and minds, and expand our collective sense of acceptance and inclusion.

WHAT IS THE HOST TOWN PROGRAM?The Host Town Program is a very special three-day program that takes place prior to the Opening Ceremony of the 2015 Special Olympics World Games. Care, Comfort, Compassion with Sanctuary HospiceAt Sanctuary Hospice, our focus is not on when life ends, but the quality of life for the time that is left. That means providing the best care possible for patients, ensuring comfort and giving peace of mind to the patient and family. Our team works together with the patient and family to create a specific plan of care. We address the patient’s medical, emotional and spiritual needs and create a plan based on their unique circumstances. Our main focus is quality-of-life. While it’s true no one can predict the number of final steps in life’s journey, Sanctuary Hospice is committed to being there to preserve the dignity of a life rich with meaning. Sanctuary Hospice is a not-for-profit organization that focuses on specialized support and services for those with a life limiting disease process. We are not a place, we are a philosophy of care. You do not need to leave your place of residence or relocate to a new environment. Our support extends throughout Orange County, San Diego county, and Los Angeles county. Sanctuary hospice provides support to individuals and families to keep patients in the comfort and security of their homes. We bill for our services through your insurance provider. We can accept most private insurances, Medi-Cal, and Medicare. Recently, we were awarded CHAPs accreditation. It is a special award that shows a higher level of excellence above and beyond the standard hospice requirements. Our team consists of physicians, nurses, social workers, home health aides, chaplains, bereavement coordinators, dieticians, patient advocates, and most importantly, volunteers.

Our patients often inspire us with their strength and courage. “Every patient and their loved ones I meet with inspire me with their strength, courage and love they have for one another. I am humbled to meet with these families to help support them… each story is unforgettable.” Brittany Wareh-Patient Advocate

Our support goes beyond our patients. “Dear Sanctuary family, God bless you all. You all showed our mother so much love, compassion, kindness, gentleness and care when she was here. (She) passed away in her sleep in God’s peace. She enjoyed the presence of every nurse, health aid, nurse practitioner, social worker and Chaplin.” - daughter of a Sanctuary Hospice patient

Sanctuary Hospice is owned by Sotto International, a 500(c)3 not for profit. We devote a percentage of our revenues to socially responsible charitable programs. The programs include education, business development, the water crisis, women’s health initiatives, child trafficking, medical missions, and general missions.

THINK Together2101-B East Fourth StreetSanta Ana, CA 92705714/543-3897x8179www.thinktogether.org

The mission of THINK Together is to create opportunities for all kids to discover their passion and reach their full potential. Our vision is educational excellence and equity for all kids. In order to reach the neediest children in our community, THINK Together partners with school districts to provide academically-oriented after-school, summer, Saturday, early learning and parent engagement programs with the goal of changing the destinies of the families we serve. In partnership with 36 districts in California, THINK serves over 100,000 students annually through the efforts of over 2,400 staff and over 5,000 volunteers. We design, field test and implement promising practices across a state-wide platform at more than 400 sites. This role uniquely positions us to be a thought leader in education reform that embraces traditional school day education and identifies an essential place for out-of-school time learning opportunities. We are committed to act as a facilitator, convener, evaluator, coach, connector of resources, consultant, service provider, and always a learner.

THINK Together started its first after-school tutoring program in 1994 in the Shalimar Street neighborhood, a tough barrio of Costa Mesa. Three years later, we were incorporated as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in order to bring its model to thousands of low-income students. As the success of the Shalimar model grew, we added more community sites and began to establish partnerships with local school districts to provide an academic-based after-school program on school campuses.
