Name: Michelle’s Bakery Our mission is to provide delicious and quick food and beverages to

customers. We specialize in desserts. We love making pastries.

GOODS AND SERVICES Initial supply of food and beverages ($8,000) Baked goods: muffins, cookies, bread, pies, cakes, cupcakes, and donuts. We also offer a variety of coffee and teas. We will use brands like Crown and Colombian Coffee We are a bakery and café so we make everything by hand. We use basic

ingredients like flour, eggs, milk, and butter.

INPUTS Labor: We must hire quality bakers that have culinary experience. Capital: I saved up money from working at a restaurant- it is needed to buy

these things: Construction of customized build out, including kitchen: $250,000 to $350,000 Furniture: $40,000 Tablewear, utensils, dishes, kitchen, and equipment: $80,000

Each week, we will have a restock of ingredients and necessities for the kitchen.

MARKETING AND ADVERTISING Partnership I chose this structure because it is the most practical when opening

restaurant type business. There are many things to handle and I feel that the best way to start this business is to split the work and allocate different parts to another person. The strengths of the two partners will combine and be more efficient in the long term.

Baking ingredients: Flour, sugar, eggs, heavy cream, fruit, eggs, milk, etc.

Workers: I need 2 or 3 experienced cooks to work in the kitchen. I also need a cashier and a couple of team members to assist the customers.

I am going to take out a loan from the Bank of America for $100,000 and combine it with my saved money so that will equal $250,000.

PERMITS, LICENSES, AND TAXES Business license: The business license gives you permission to legally

operate your restaurant within a specific jurisdiction. This costs around $300.

Food Handler's Permit: This permit ensures that your restaurant meets regulations regarding food sanitation, storage, protection and preparation. This costs around $200.00.

The all required permits and licenses add up to around $5,000 to $6,000. Restaurant insurance for the business property and liability: $6,097 Income tax, sales tax, property taxes, and payroll taxes all add up to

around $20,000.

DEMOGRAPHICS We are targeting customers of every age. They probably have families. We

predict that teens and young adults will come to the business most often because they like sweets and drinking coffee. We will target our advertising to them.

We open next to a big shopping center where a lot of families go to. They might come to our bakery when they are done shopping.

MARKET STRUCTURE & COMPETITORS Monopolistic Competition: Many sellers, differentiated product. Potential Customers will chose to shop with my bakery because we have

quality baked goods at a very affordable price. Many chain bakeries and coffee shops are way too overpriced.
