We have some new marketing ideas to bring forth and could use a really nice photo to promote our local BPW chapter. Our goal is to get this done at the August social. We will do this right away, so even if you can’t come for the whole night, please plan to stop by and be a part of the group photo. Looking forward to a great year and seeing everyone at the Au- gust social. Your BPW President ~ Stacy Petersen I hope each and every one of you has enjoyed your summer so far. It’s hard to believe that it will be back to school right around the corner. Although I love sum- mer, I personally can’t wait to get back into the routines and struc- ture that school offers for my kids and our lives. Just to get you all caught up with what we’ve been doing at the State level, in June we had our State of MN Board of Directors meeting in St. Cloud. Our Willmar BPW Chapter has 3 women serving on the Minnesota State BPW Board of Direc- tors, they are: Julie Asmus, Michelle Marotzke and yours tru- ly. The three of us will do our very best to rep- resent Willmar and bring back updates from the State to our local chapter. The date for the State BPW Con- ference has been scheduled for April 16th and we need your input on the following: 1. What do you want to see at the state event? 2. What topics/ training would you like to see offered? 3. Do you have a pre- ferred location for the state Conference to be held? We value your input and would love an email, call, text or mes- sage with your ideas. Another huge re- quest that I have is for us to get a really nice group photo of our BPW members. At the August meeting we'll have a Premier Jewelry Party hosted by Lana Palmer (BPW member). Money and Jewelry earned for having the party will go initially to the General Fund for items such as the Employ-ment Recognition Banquet, the Scholarship Fund, speaking fees or other items that are discussed and agreed upon during general meetings. Last year we earned $350 and 11 pieces of jewelry!! So this is a great opportunity to treat yourself and help increase the General Fund.

The Fall Fundraiser will be on Thurs-day, November 12th from 4:30 - 6:15 at LuLu Beans. The vendor so far is Heather Nett, Tastefully Simple and we hope to have a couple more. Anyone else who is interested in selling a product, please contact Chris Carlson. Last years' vendors were Tastefully Sim-ple, Thirty-one, Simply Said and Miss Betty. The proceeds from this fundraiser will also go to the General Fund.

It would be great to be able to add more girls to the group. If you're interested in joining this very worthwhile group and having some fun with a Jr. High age girl, please contact Julie Asmus.

The mentoring group has had a fun and active summer. In June the group went to the Barn Theatre to see a wonder-ful presentation of "Fiddler on the Roof." After the play we went for a treat at Cherry Ber-ry. It was a "first" for most of the girls to see a play at the Barn and create an ice cream treat at Cherry Berry. In July we had a pool party at Julie's house. We had a gorgeous day splashing and cooling off in the pool.
