ABOUT US
Technician applying Spray‐Foam to roofing structure
Background
The two co‐owners of AfriFoam, Michael and Frans, were both employed at the Iscor Polymer plant since
1989. When Iscor discontinued such non‐core plants in 1997, they took over the plant in their private capacity
and Polyurethane Creations was founded.
The initial focus was to fulfill the remaining Iscor requirements, whilst also investigating new income streams
and business ventures. From these humble origins, AfriFoam was founded in May 1999 after identifying the
need for insulation of agricultural structures for the breeding and production farming industry.
With 30 years of experience in the Polymer field, AfriFoam is a leader in insulation. Our service and quality
products are well‐known amongst the farmers across Southern Africa.
Although mostly applied in the agricultural field currently, similar use in commercial and residential structures
is equally possible.

AfriFoam can be applied rapidly with minimal impact on operations.
AfriFoam insulation can be used to effectively reduce operating costs by eliminating unwanted heat / cold loss through air infiltration, sealing and insulating walls and roofs, either in new or retrofit applications. AfriFoam can be applied to most types of construction materials to form a completely seamless, air and water tight membrane.
BENEFITS
Typical Piggery structure with Spray‐Foam application
Benefits of Polyurethane Spray‐Foam Lowers Production Costs: High R‐values and seamless installation result in lower energy costs, higher
production and lower mortality rates.
Reinforces Structures: Rigid Spray‐Foam insulation not only insulates more effectively than any other product currently, it also stiffens roofs with more “racking” strength than that of conventional insulation.
Stays in place: After applied, AfriFoam insulation will never settle or sag like conventional insulation. This means all year‐round and long‐term energy efficiency.
Waterproofs: roofs are automatically waterproofed for wet conditions.
Seals: it seals for any air leaks and the application method allows no space between the insulation and the structure preventing birds and rodents to nest or infiltrate.
Additional Benefits: Formulated with renewable agricultural resources.
Odorless.
Non‐toxic after installation.
Separate vapor barrier is usually not required.
