ABM 3 can now be personalisedEach user can personalise their ABM, according to their tastes, using 16 different “skins” which include Windows Vista.


The Navigation Bar has been upgraded

The user can choose from the styles used in Microsoft Office.


Lists can be Filtered

Suppose you are working on products and wish to focus on hardware group products from ABC Services.

Just point at the word “Hardware” with your mouse, right click and select “Filter on this item”. Then repeat for “ABC Services”. The list is reduced to matching items.

Right click anywhere and select “Clear All Filters” when you are done.


Open Multiple Windows

Customers, Suppliers, Jobs, Products and Ledger Accounts can be viewed concurrently.

View a customer (say) and you can now click the buttons behind to switch to products, etc.

Use the new Windows menu to switch between the views you have open.


Sales and Purchase Delivery Lists

Deliveries and returns can now be listed for the past month, quarter or year.

Those not invoiced are highlighted with red flags


Sales and Purchase Invoice Lists

Invoices and Credits can now be listed for the past month, quarter or year.

Those unpaid are highlighted with red and orange flags.

The view menu contains an option to display unpaid or all invoices and credits


Importing Sales Orders

Customer orders can now be imported into ABM from a spreadsheet.

The column format is flexible as long as each row contains at least a product code and a quantity.


Users can now choose to have a warning displayed whenever an item is sold at a margin lower than the figure specified here.

Users now have direct, one click access to the cashbook.

Plus options to view only receipts or payments.

Stock Ageing

A new button calculates ageing of the entire stock and the results can be selected in the product list column chooser.

The age in days is the average age of each product.

The value of each product is also aged into current month, 30, 60 and 90+ days.


Assembly & Stocking of Kits

Kit Products can now be purchased, assembled, stocked and disassembled within ABM.

This allows users to conduct simple manufacturing operations without the need to use the full manufacturing module.

To access the kit assembly facilities just view the kit, go to the components page and click the new button.


Stocktake Variations

At the end of a stocktake, the variations in value are calculated and are now posted to a separate control account.

This means that you are able to track the gains and losses resulting from stocktakes over a period of time.


Purchase Discounts or Margins

Users who purchase stock on the basis of retail or wholesale price less a margin, will welcome this new feature.

On each product and supplier, you can specify the discount or margin received for quantity one and a specified quantity.

The purchasing program will then default to the percentages specified.


Allocation of Delivery Charges

Delivery charges can now be allocated to purchased products at time of delivery; not just at time of invoice entry.


Document Folders now on Products

An Outlook email folder and a disk folder for documents can be allocated to each product for quick access to documentation from within ABM.


Customer & Supplier Opening Balances

On new installations, the opening balances for customers and suppliers can now be imported from spreadsheets, etc.

Aged outstanding items for each account will be automatically created.


ABM and ACD are now fully integrated

Users of the Advanced Crystal Documents (ACD) module can now see their extra documents and printer and forms settings all centralised in one place.

ACD has now become ABM’s Advanced Printing Module.


Generating Extra Documents

The standard documents now appear in the integrated list as default documents.

Users who have already purchased ACD will see their extra documents appear in the integrated list.

Users may purchase the Advanced Printing Module to add additional documents for specified or all customers and different printers or email addresses.


Customer Interest Charges

A new button calculates and posts the interest charges on any customers who have an interest rate and also have overdue invoices dated prior to the selected date.

Each charge is an invoice containing a single ledger item allocated to the specified account.


Australian Wine Equalisation Tax

Australian users who are in liquor related industries can now get ABM to completely handle their wine equalisation tax.



The Wine Equalisation Tax (WET) status of both customers and suppliers can be selected to be quoting, with or without rebate.

A warning is displayed when the quoting expiry date is passed and a sale or purchase takes place.



WET is automatically calculated at the time of each relevant sale or purchase.


Visual Management of Contacts

Users now have easy visual control of their contacts

Users can now choose if and when synchronisation is required and with which folders.

Synchronisation can be with Outlook or Legrand CRM or both.

Optional Job Profit Calculation

ABM normally calculates the profit on each job as the total charges less the total cost.

Users can now choose to calculate the profit on each job as the invoiced amount less the cost.


Direct Editing of Budgets

Any budget can now be edited directly without having to use the Budget Wizard.

Much more convenient when you only have a few changes to make.


Importing Journals

Journals can now be imported into ABM from a spreadsheet.

The column format is flexible as long as each row contains at least an account code and an amount.

ABM will check that the journal balances before starting the import


Better control of Bank Reconciliations

ABM maintains a list of previous statements giving users one click access to the contents of each statement


Easier Bank Reconciliations

If you need to enter a missing transaction in the course of a bank rec, ABM now links to all cashbook transactions.

So you can now add receipts and payments to customers, suppliers and jobs as well as ledger transactions.

You can also add bank transfers.

Overdue Customer Email Alerts

On each customer, you can choose to receive an automatic email when it looks like the customer is going to exceed their credit limit or trading terms

On each job, you can choose to receive an automatic email when the job exceeds its estimate


Budget Exceeded Email Alerts

On each ledger account, you can choose to receive an automatic email when the monthly budget is exceeded in total or for any sub-account.

When management changes occur the email alerts can be redirected in one step


The Business Bulletin

Users can design their own bulletins which summarise the health and wealth of the business.

Each bulletin is an Excel spreadsheet containing the selected tables and graphs.

Bulletins can be viewed on demand or can be automatically created and emailed at specified intervals.

Bulletins can be accessed only by users who are authorised to see ledger financial reports.


The Business Bulletin Content Wizard

In creating a new Business Bulletin, the first step is to give it a name



Step 2 is to specify if you wish to monitor your percentage gross sales margins.

You can choose one of four levels of row detail

One or more of three time periods can be specified.



The average age of your stock, in months, can be shown and compared with the same time in two earlier periods.



Your debtors situation can be monitored by means of the average age of your debtors, the total aged balances and the number of customers who have exceeded their terms or credit limits.

All of these can be compared with the same time last month or last year.



Similar tools are provided to monitor your creditors



Standard accounting ratios are used to monitor the state of the business financially.

They are shown graphically in the bulletin across thirteen periods so that this year/last year comparisons can be done.



You can choose to generate the Bulletin on demand by using the ABM menubar

Or you can have the Bulletins produced automatically on the server. The time and days when they are generated can be specified and they can be emailed to a list of addresses.


The Business Bulletin

Your Business Bulletin is presented in Excel charts.

Use your mouse to point at any chart portion you require detail on.

Your selected presentations appear in Excel worksheets


Scheduled Reports

Reports can be selected and scheduled to be run at particular times and dates using specified filter sets, output format and destination settings


Scheduling Tasks

Scheduled tasks can be set up for backups, reports, database housekeeping and Business Bulletins.

Whilst these tasks can be set up in the individual programs, they can also be viewed, created or modified in the Master Schedule for all company databases.

The Master Schedule also shows Windows Scheduled Tasks so that ABM tasks can be scheduled to occur between other activities.

Easier Running of Scripts

If a database maintenance script has to be run, it is now much easier to get the user to run it.


Ensuring that SQL Server Runs Efficiently Users of both SQL Express and full SQL Server can set up a housekeeping plan which ensures that database performance is optimum within the limits of their hardware.

This can be scheduled to run on their server at a specified interval and time.

Multiple plans can be set up eg. A nightly plan and a weekend plan.

A backup facility is provided for Access users.


User Settings get a lot easier

• Database paths now stored in the Local Machine registry stay there.

• Printer settings now in the Current User registry stay there.

• All other settings are now moved into the company databases.

• This means that:

• User’s settings follow them when they work on a different workstation

• When you want your support consultant to look at something, they can see

exactly what you see, just by logging on as you from their office.

• When they copy your database to work on it, all the user’s settings come

with it.
