PREFACE

The home assignment , being given to the students , aims at strengthening the concepts of each student through reinforcement of topics covered in class lectures by practicing the questions given in the assignment. Some sample papers in each subject have been given. The maximum benefit can be gained only if the student goes through all the topics of fragment 1 thoroughly before attempting the sample paper. The assignment will not only act as a reinforcement tool but will also help the students acquire the tendency of solving the entire paper in one sitting, just like he/she sits in an examination for three hours. Hence, improving student’s time management skill in examination. This assignment will also fetch the student 5 marks in practical. The solutions of all the question papers given in the home assignment have to be written on separate A-4 sheets. coffee but were not happy with the long waiting time being taken to process the order. She

analysed and found out that there were many unnecessary obstructions in between which could

be eliminated .She fixed a standard time for processing the order. She also 6rganiza that there

were some flavours whose demand was not enough so she also decided to stop the sale of such

flavours. As a result within a short period Sandhya was able to attract the customers.

the field of management,engineering and computer education in which half of the students are

Q.33 Harshita has successfully emerged as the owner of the best modular kitchen manufacturer

firm in Delhi. Her friend Vartika is highly inspired by Harshita’s success in business. In order to

understand the essence of successful business management Vartika decides to spend a week in

her office. Vartika observes that a deliberate effort is made to integrate diverse activities of the

8rganization. Like whenever the sales manager makes a plan to raise the sales target ,he also

consults other department managers that is the production manager, the purchase Manager, the

finance manager etc. in order to avoid any problem that main arise in future Moreover, work

among people working in the production department is divided in such a manner that where the

work of one person ends, the work of the next person begins. Therefore everybody makes efforts

to complete his/ her work on time ,and the workers do not create obstruction in each other’s work .

In context to the above case:

(a) Identify the concept being described in the above paragraph .

(b) Explain any five importance of the above identified concept.

The top management of Vrinda Limited has done proper arrangement for all the resources of men

,machines, material and money for its business. A special attention has been paid to the running

of all the activities properly. Several competitor companies were using imported modern machines

.Influenced by them the company also had to install similar machines. The technology of these

machines was most sophisticated .Before the employees protest against this technology they

were given the training in it. Hence, they accepted the installation of these machines happily

.Some of the employees understood this technology very soon .The company felt happy with their

work and rewarded them. Its impact on the other employees was also positive .The top

management has directed all the employees to have free and informal communication and give

suggestions ,lodge complaints and even talk about their personal matter.

Identify and explain the three points of importance of management described in the paragraph

above by quoting the relevant lines.

past, the company was not performing well .Karan was determined to improve the company’s

performance. He observed that the methods of production as well as selection of employees in the

the method is developed, the workers of the company should be trained to learn the best method .

He asked the production manager to develop the best method and carry out the necessary

training .The production manager developed this method using several parameters right from

deciding the sequence of operations, place for men, machines and raw materials till the delivery of

the product to the customers .This method was implemented throughout the 9rganization. It

helped in increasing the output, improving the quality and reducing the cost and wastage.
