Kaiser Branch CampusThe BUSM/Kaiser branch campus was established in 2015 to offer BUSM students the opportunity to train in one of the most technologically innovative health care systems in the country, and to expose students to Kaiser’s successful integrated health care delivery system.

Clerkship highlights• Students are seeing a high volume and wide variety of cases• Students report feeling very supported while also being given a
high level of autonomy• Students have received considerable direct attention and teaching
from attendings• In the OR, students are driving camera and suturing• On OB/GYN, students are participating in multiple vaginal and
cesarean births each day• Students are gaining experience in a highly successful integrated
health care delivery system• Specially developed Quality Improvement Innovations in
Healthcare curriculum with one lecture a month
Orientation and Didactics• Students participate in orientation activities at BUSM prior to departing
for CA• Students complete all required simulation training during orientation at
BUSM• Students participate in a comprehensive orientation at Kaiser, including
enhanced Epic training• All didactic lectures have been recorded for student viewing• Students participate in small groups, patient sessions, lectures and other
didactic sessions live via Skype

Student Application• Applications for the Kaiser Branch Campus will be available in September• Students in good academic standing will be considered for this program• Housing for BUSM students while on rotation in California are the
responsibility of the student• Students chosen for this program need to meet all financial aid commitments
by mid-February• Office of Student Affairs ensures continuity of student wellbeing and
collaborates with colleagues in CA
