But the word of God connue to grow and be mulplied Acts 12:24 The Psalms, what an encouragement, Semilla de Mostaza has had a series of preaching on the psalms. To find Jesus and the gospel on the select psalms encourages us to see the power and sustainability of Scripture in our own lives. On April 22 nd , we had our pre-retreat gathering of church planters. The theme was our belief on Trinity and prepar- ing for the celebraon of 500 years of the Reformaon. The focus on the gospel and having some pastoral applicaon for our ministries. Church Planters from Macara, Nabon, Charqui, Nambacola, Gonzamana, Catamayo, Occidental, Sauces norte, Suro, Amaluza were present, plus our Worldventure team that is serving in Loja. The Messicks and Fergusons, Worldventure units staoned in Loja are developing workshops such as, marriage, parenng, doctrinal statement, how to interpret the bible all these with the purpose to be offered to the church planng places. They have had great recepon indicang busy schedules for the fall. An un-expected provision for land toward our church in Vinces. An Ecuadorian gynecologist has been serving on the volunteer basis on the outreaches that our church planter Jairo Mena does in Vinces. She provided the money for pur- chasing a small piece of land to build a building for the church there. The church was praying and God provided in an out- standing way. We Praise our Lord for his provision. Officially, our sponsoring of the Macara church has started. We ask for your prayers for Pastor Richard and Estefan- ia. But the word of God continue to grow and be multiplied Acts 12:24 The Psalms, what an encouragement, Semilla de Mostaza has had a series of preaching on the psalms. To find Jesus and the gospel on the select psalms encourages us to see the power and sustainability of Scripture in our own lives.

On April 22nd, we had our pre-retreat gathering of church planters. The theme was our belief on Trinity and prepar-ing for the celebration of 500 years of the Reformation. The focus on the gospel and having some pastoral application for our ministries. Church Planters from Macara, Nabon, Charqui, Nambacola, Gonzamana, Catamayo, Occidental, Sauces norte, Suro, Amaluza were present, plus our Worldventure team that is serving in Loja. The Messicks and Fergusons, Worldventure units stationed in Loja are developing workshops such as, marriage, parenting, doctrinal statement, how to interpret the bible all these with the purpose to be offered to the church planting places. They have had great reception indicating busy schedules for the fall.

An un-expected provision for land toward our church in Vinces. An Ecuadorian gynecologist has been serving on the volunteer basis on the outreaches that our church planter Jairo Mena does in Vinces. She provided the money for pur-chasing a small piece of land to build a building for the church there. The church was praying and God provided in an out-standing way. We Praise our Lord for his provision.

Officially, our sponsoring of the Macara church has started. We ask for your prayers for Pastor Richard and Estefan-ia. They are doing a good job of reaching the surrounding areas there. Also, they are a young couple and we don’t want the church people underestimating their capacity due to their age.

During Easter week, three of our church planting places, Occidental, Sauces Norte and Catamayo in partnership with a ministry E3 did an outreach in their communities with medical services and evangelism door by door. At this point, a follow up has been conducted to have discipleship in those communities.

This past weeks a group from Semilla together with SIM have been working through a series on grief. This week they left to Pedernales one of the earthquake sites. They will be sharing the Good News and giving this workshop and work-ing one on one with people plus working in other ministries. This will be done alongside a local church. What an encourage-ment it is to see people from Semilla de Mostaza go to other areas of Ecuador.

Support needed: $947 per monthYes, I want to partner with Leo and Lourdes Calva church planting and leadershipdevelopment in Ecuador.

Missionary #088

FAMILY. Pablo has been growing and we pray that his

heart also continues to grow being en-couraged in the Lord growing in knowing God more. He is a teacher once a month in the nursery, and helps me during the sermon with the power point bible vers-es. At the same time, he is playing bas-ketball and learning to read music in the piano. He had a great recital. Wonderful big brother.

Yanina, when she was five years old had an accident. She got burn with hot water at her right leg and pelvis. The keloid be-tween the leg and pelvis was obstructing her walking. This past April she had re-constructed surgery. she is doing great, and a big part of the scar has been re-moved. She continues to improve at school.

Lulu is a busy lady, mentoring young ladies, counseling, coordinating children pro-grams, women ministries, teaching a Sunday school class, mom and wife.

Leos School is on standby due to financial reasons. The fall classes will have to wait until further provision. But we are thank-ful because our Lord has been incredible on providing and support.

Your missionary family, Leo, Lulu, Pablo and Yanina
