ASTM A860 / MSS SP-75 WPHY 52 Typical applications include high pressure gas and oil transmission and distribution systems. The material consists of fully killed fine-grain material made by a melting process that produces rounded, well dispersed fine sulphide inclusions that promote good notch toughness, assisting in the resistance to hydrogen induced cracking. This material is suitable for field welding. A860 requires Charpy Impact testing at -50°F (-45°C) with 30 ft-lb (average of three specimens) 25 ft-lb (individual specimen) minimum.
