DEFINITION

• Buttonholes are holes in the fabric that are paired with functional buttons that serve as fasteners and as decorative buttons. The machine used for constructing buttonholes is known as buttonhole machine

• Buttonhole can be done in two ways• Simple button holes are used in shirts, blouses• Complex button holes are used in tailored

garments such as jacket, overcoats
