OverviewWelcometotheclubs’onlinesystemdesignedtoallowclubmemberstomanagetheirowncompetitionentries.Inthepasttheprintstewardshadthetaskofenteringallofthedetailsforcompetitionsintospreadsheetsanddatabases,collectingelectronicimagesfromemails,sortingprintsandgeneratingallofthedocumentationforthejudges.Whiletheprintstewardsstillneedtosortanddeliverprintstothejudges,thisonlinesystemisdesignedtoallowclubmemberstoassisttheprintstewards,byenteringthedetailsoftheirentriesdirectly.Thisincludes:
• MemberID,• Imagecategory(Large,Small,Mono,etc),• Imagename,and• Uploadoftheelectronicversionofeachimage.
Inaddition,thesystemcancreateaPDFentryform,pre-filledwithalloftheentrydetails.Thisformshouldbeprintedandincludedalongwiththeprintsforthecompetition.

AccessingtheSystemThesystemisavailableontheclubs’website,thereisalinktotheintroductionpageintheCompetitionssectionoftheInformationmenu:

LogginginTousethesystem,youmusthaveregisteredontheclubwebsite,andyourwebsiteuseraccountneedstobeactivatedinthesystem.Whenyouclicktheabovelinktoenterthesystemyouwillberequiredtologintothewebsitewiththeusernameandpasswordyoupreviouslyregisteredwith.
Afterlogginginyouwillberedirectedtothemaincompetitionscreen.Ifyouseethefollowingmessage,thenyouraccounthasnotbeenactivatedinthesystemyet.Sendanemailwithyourusername(notpassword)[email protected].

RegisteringforaccessIfyouhavenotpreviouslyregisteredonthewebsite,clickonthe‘Register’linkontheloginscreen.Thiswilltakeyoutotheregistrationpage,enterausernameandemailaddress,thenclickRegister.
Youwillreceiveanemailwithalinktocompleteyourregistration.Onceregisteredsendanemailtoberwickviewfinders@gmail.comwithyourusername(notyourpassword)andwewillactivateyouraccesstothesystem.

SitenavigationWhenyoufirstenterthesystemyouwillbetakentothecompetitionlistforthecurrentyear.Thescreenwilllooksomethinglikethis:
Youcanseethelistofcompetitionsfortheyear,thesubject/theme,collectionandjudgingdates,detailsontheentries,andthestatus.Clickonthecompetitionnametoaddyourentries,orviewtheresultsofacompetitions.Note,youcanonlyaddentriestoan‘Open’competition.Whenviewingaclosedcompetition,youwillonlybeabletoseethescoresandresultsforthewinners,andforyourownentries.Ontheleftisanavigationmenu.Hereyoucanviewalistofallofyourcompetitionentriesinthesystem(‘MyEntries’),seealistofclubmembers(‘Members’)andviewcompetitiondetailsgoingbackto2011.

AddinganentrytoacompetitionClickonthenameofthecompetitionyouwishtoaddentriesto,forexampleAGG7inthe2016list.Initiallythiswillbeemptyasyouhavenotenteredanythingyet.
Clickthe‘AddNewEntries’button.
Fillinthedetailsforyourentry,thenclickthe‘SaveCompetitionEntryDetails’button.

Notesoncompetitionentries:• Ifyouhavealreadyaddedthemaximumnumberofentriesinacategory,thecategory
willnotbeavailableinthedropdownlist.• Youcan’tchangethemembername.• Theimagenameismandatory.Namesshouldbekeptfairlyshort(otherwisetheymay
notfitonthecertificates).• Anelectronicimageisrequiredbytheclub,howeveryoumayaddtheentrywithoutan
imagetostartwith,thenaddtheimagelater.• Ifyouselectanimagethatismorethan5MBinsizeawarningwillbedisplayed,andyou
willnotbeabletouploadtheimage.Pleaseresizetheimagefirst.• Theclubwouldliketobeabletodisplaycompetitionentriesonthewebsitetohelp
promotetheclub,andattractmembership.Ifyoudonotwishtohaveaparticularimagedisplayedonthewebsite,clearthecheckboxundertheimagefile.
• The‘Grade’shouldnormallybeleftblank,asthesystemwilldeterminethisautomatically.For‘Novice’members,youmayelecttoenteranimageintoan‘Open’sectionbysettingthegradeto‘Open’.
• ImagefilesdonotneedtobenamedaccordingtotheclubEDPInamingconvention,thesystemwillrenamethefilewhenyouuploadit.Imagesshouldbesizedcorrectly.
• Entriescanbeaddedorchangedupuntil6pmonthedayafterthecollectiondateforthecompetition.Printimagesmustbesubmittedattheclubmeetingonthecollectiondatehowever,soalteringthedetailsforaprintimageafterthecollectionmayresultintheimagebeingrejectedbytheprintstewards.
Afteryouhaveaddedyourentryyouwillbebackontheentrylistpageforthecompetition.Youshouldnowseeyourentry,includingtheimagethumbnailifyouuploadedanimage.
Continueaddingyourentries.Onceyouhaveaddedthemaximumnumberofentriesforthecompetition,the‘AddNewEntries’buttonwilldisappear(asshownabove).

AlteringanentryIfyouwishtochangethedetailsforanentry,uploadanimage(orreplaceanexistingimage),clickonthe‘Edit’buttontotheleftoftheentry.Theentryformwillbedisplayed,includinganypreviouslyuploadedimage.Makeanychanges,andthenclickthe‘Update’button.Youcanalsoremoveanentryfromthecompetitionbyclickingthe‘Delete’buttontotherightoftheentry.Thereisnoundofeature,sotakecare.
ImagewarningsWhenyouuploadanelectronicimage,anumberofwarningsmaybedisplayedbythesystemagainstyourimage.Howyouhandleanyofthesewarningsisuptoyou,wewillaccepttheimagesasuploaded.Keepinmindthattheelectroniccopiesofyourprintimagesarenotsenttothejudge,theyareonlyusedfordisplayonthejudgingnight.YourEDPIentriesaresenttothejudgesoitisinyourbestinteresttoensuretheseimagesareasgoodastheycanbe.ImagesizetoolargeIfyourimageislargerthantheclubstandardforEDPIimages(1920x1080),thesystemwillautomaticallyresizetheimage,anddisplayawarninginred:
Youdon’tneedtodoanything;thesystemwillusetheresizedimageifyoudon’t.However,thesoftwarethatresizestheimageisnotthebest,soyoumaychoosetoresizetheimageyourselfanduploadanewcopy.

ImagesizetoosmallIfyourimageissmallerthantheEDPIstandard(1920x1080),awarninginbluewillbedisplayed.Thissimplymeansyoucanuploadahigherresolutionimagetothesystemifyouwantto.Asmallimagemaynotpresentwithasmuchimpact,orcontainlessdetailthanahigherresolutionimage.

ImagehasacolourprofileIfyourimagewassavedwithacolourprofilethatisnotsRGB,awarninginorangewillbeshown.
Inmostcasestheimagewilldisplaycorrectlywhenviewedbyajudge;however,thiscannotbeguaranteed.Iftheaboveimagewereviewedinanon-colourmanagedapplication,itwouldlooklikethis:

EntryFormAfteraddingyourentriestothesystem,the‘EntryForm’linkatthetopofthepagecanbeusedtodownloadapre-filledPDFentryformforthecompetition.Dependingonyourwebbrowsersettings,theentryformmaybedisplayedinthebrowser,oritmaydownloadautomatically.Iftheformisdisplayedinthebrowser,movethemousetothebottomofthepageandacontrolbarshouldappear:
