  • THE RIGHT INGREDIENTS FOR SUCCESS

Flexibility In today’s competitive global environment, your business can change daily. With our modular tool zone, your Tsugami can be reconfigured in minutes to meet new requirements. Adding a Chucker Kit allows you to convert your Tsugami BW329Z from a Swissturn to a chucker lathe. Available optional functions such as thread whirling, polygon turning, and angled drilling ensure that your BW329Z is ready to tackle whatever job comes in the door.

Changeover At Tsugami, we realize that having the most capable machine available is only part of the requirement. The BW329Z is quick and easy to change over. The machine features a wide door opening for easy access, right hand configuration, long headstock stroke for convenient access to the headstock collet and guide bushing, easy access to sub spindle tooling, and horizontal tools for ease of setting. The Program Check Function, which allows new programs to be quickly and safely proven out, is included as standard.

Overlap – Cycle Time Reduction Better overlap capabilities mean more work is done to reduce your cycle time. With the BW329Z Y2 axis and its 8 modular driven tool positions, reduction in cycle time can be dramatic. Large linear guides, a three toggle collet clamping system, and extra ribbing in the one piece base are just a few of the Tsugami BW329Z engineering advancements made for optimal workholding, larger tools, and heavier cuts.

  • SpeedYour BW329Z features a state of the art 3 Path FANUC CNC control for low idle times and high speed processing. The BW329Z provides you with the capability to use 3 tools in the cut, two on the main and one on the sub. Be it pinch turning or threading, pinch milling, pinch drilling or super position work, the BW329Z can enhance your part making. The ability to pre-position tools will allow you to optimize your cycle time. The horizontally opposed gang tool layout offers the shortest tool to tool path and therefore the quickest possible chip to chip time. The BW329Z has Y-axis and 8 live tool positions on the sub spindle tool post allowing milling operations traditionally performed on the main spindle to be carried out on the sub spindle internal to the cycle time. Other features include integral spindle motors and an integral drive guide bushing motor for the fastest possible acc/dec times and quick C-axis positioning.

PrecisionTsugami has the most rigid gang tool post in the industry due to opposing rail slides. The BW329Z is built on a heavy duty one piece cast iron base with thermally symmetrical construction and features 0.1 micron axis resolution. A more rigid platform allows higher speeds and feeds. Thermal Compensation is also included.

ReliabilityThe BW329Z is built for the long haul. The machine features rugged construction, belt free spindles, live tools, and integral drive guide bushing motor. For extra peace of mind, the machines, motors, and controls are covered by an industry leading two-year parts and service warranty.

    Abile Programming Software

Abile is an easy to learn programming software, specifi cally designed by Tsugami Engineers for each machine model and included with your Tsugami machine purchase at no added cost. Abile Programming Software can be used to quickly and effi ciently program basic Swiss parts on your Tsugami machine and its a great estimating tool for quoting jobs. Because of the software’s ease of use, it is perfect for fi rst time Swiss programmers. Abile can be used to program 2-path and 3-path Tsugami models and incorporates 3D graphic simulation with interference checking and overtravel detection capabilities.

Oscillation CuttingOscillation Cutting is a technological breakthrough that oscillates a servo axis to help break chips in tough to cut materials, reduces heat in the cut, while not diminishing tool life.

    Oscillation Cutting benefi ts:

    • Productivity is increased by signi cantly reducing operator interruption to remove hanging or bird nesting chips.

    • Creates the ultimate solution for materials that are normally dif cult to break chips

    • Easy to program by special G code

    • Oscillation parameters can be changed easily within the program for machining multiple features with multiple tools.

    • Can be used for many machining operations including OD turning, drilling, boring, grooving, cutoff, circular interpolation, and most FANUC canned cycles.

“We’ve seen greatly increased productivity and accuracy of our components. Our B0326-II is presently operating at full capacity 24/7 producing a highly complex part. We love the fact that we save material on the bar ends since the machine operates as a chucker and there is no need to use ground stock. Plus, the controls are easy to operate and we are able to run the machine on an unattended extended shift.”

PATRICIA HIRSCHOwner, Honor Med Maskiner Corp. | Elgin, IL

“One of the things that we’ve liked about Tsugami machines is that they give us the ability to run overnight, which has greatly reduced our costs and overhead in the business. What it has done for us is allowed us to go from two shifts down to one shift. We now run 4 days a week, only 8 hours a day, as opposed to 2 shifts, 10 hours a day, 4 days a week. ”
