The front fascia is removed for baseplate installation. Holes need to be drilled. The BX8869is available for the vehicle. Attachment Tabs are 24 inches center to center and a height of 19 inches.

1. Using the 10MM socket, remove the metricbolt from battery holddown strap. Remove thenine push pins from top plastic, lift up and setaside.

2. Just forward of front tire, on fascia corner,remove the metric bolt with the 8MM socketor a phillips screw driver.

3. Remove two push pins inside wheel well,both sides and seven push pins from theback edge of the belly pan.

4. Using the 10MM socket, remove the twometric bolts on lower fascia corner, bothsides. Pull fascia forward and set aside.

5. Locate horn bracket and bend bracketin toward radiator to relieve area forbaseplate, both sides.

6. Drill a 1 1/8" hole on theinside of frame ends, togain access to inside offrame, using either a 1 1/8" drill bit or hole saw.

11. The dimensional variations between otherwise identical cars can be considerable. While thelocation and size of the holes in the baseplate were designed to allow for easy installation, itmay be necessary to file a hole slightly to allow a bolt to clear.

12. Install the tow bar and safety cables according to the instructions included in their packages.

13. Do not substitute other devices if the tow bar pin and clip are lost.

14. DEALER OR INSTALLER: BE CERTAIN THE USER RECEIVES THEINSTRUCTION SHEET.

8. Align item 2 with drilled holes on passengerside and take a measurement from the frontedge of frame end to item 2. Hold item 2 onthe outside of frame's bottom edge, on driversside. While applying 3/8" measurement frombaseplate to the back side of frame end, markholes with the 13/32" transfer punch, and drillholes on driver's side with the 13/32" drillbit.(Note hole pattern for driver's side to insureproper hole alignment.)

9. Hold baseplate and items 2 to align with drilledholes on frame rails. Put item 3 into drilled 1 1/8"hole (step 6) to align with upper holes on baseplate.Insert item 5 into item 8, baseplate, item 2, andframe to align with item 3. Install items 6, 8, and 9into lower hole, and tighten all bolts, both sides.Using the baseplate as a template, drill a 13/32"hole into frame end as shown in photo above andinstall items 3, 4, 7, and 8 (Item 4 is used as a fillbetween frame and baseplate). Be sure and useloctite on all bolts before tightening.

10. Hold fascia in place and mark areas thatneed to be trimmed, trim lower openingaccordingly, and reinstall fascia

7. Remove metric bolt, on passenger side, with the12MM socket. Hold item 2 on the outside of frameend on passenger side, align with bottom edge offrame, hold baseplate 3/8" spacing from the backside frame end, mark hole with a 17/32" transferpunch, and drill holes with the 13/32" drill bit.

IMPORTANT: Use only genuine factory replacement parts on your Base Plate. Do not substitutehomemade or nontypical parts. If a bolt is lost or in need of replacement, for your safety and thepreservation of your Base Plate, be sure to use a replacement bolt of the same grade (Usually Grade5, refer to parts list). Repair parts may be ordered through your nearest Blue Ox dealer ordistributor.
