2.8 TROUBLE SHOOTING THE ADJUSTABLE RATE OF FIRE

Tuning - Troubleshooting A:If tuning the adjustable trigger produces little or no response in the rate of fire, reset the flow control valve as follows:

Step 1: With the gun properly unloaded (see Section 2.6), begin adjusting the rate of fire by turning flow control clockwise, completely. Do not over tighten or damage will occur. In a safe direction, fire 2 to 4 shots. Trigger should become very hard to pull or even unable to be pulled. If this occurs, the adjustable trigger system is functioning properly. Go to step 2. If this does not occur, go to Tuning - Trouble-shooting B: (below)

Step 2: Now, while firing in a safe direction with the airgun still unloaded, slowly turn the flow control adjuster counter-clockwise until desired rate of fire is achieved.

Tuning - Troubleshooting B:If the trigger remains easy to pull after adjusting the flow control as per step 1 (above) there may be a leak in the system.

If you have a leak in the system the airgun will need to be dissassembled for repair. Do not attempt to dissassemble on your own. Pleae call our service departmentToll Free 800-671-1498

2.9 SAFE AIMING AND SHOOTINGt

! WARNING: NEVER USE A SHARP METAL OBJECT TO REMOVE PELLETS FROM THE DRUM OR GUN. DAMAGE TO GUN OR DRUM CAN CAUSE MALFUNCTIONS.

• Make sure that the safety is “ON SAFE” (see Section 2.1 “USING THE SAFETY”). Insert the air source and load the air gun as described. As an experienced and safety-con-scious marksman make certain you have correctly adjusted your sight.

t

! CAUTION: THIS IS A HIGH-POWERED AIR GUN, WHICH MEANS YOU MUST BE ESPECIALLY CAREFUL WHEN SELECTING A TARGET. CHOOSE ONLY TARGETS THAT CANNOT BE PENETRATED AND WHOSE HARD SURFACES WILL NOT CAUSE PELLETS TO RICOCHET.

After loading the airgun as described in (section 2.4), make sure that the target, backstop and surroundings are safe. Put the safety on fire “OFF SAFE” (Fig. 2.b & 2.c ready to fire). The air gun is now ready to shoot. Squeeze the trigger gently but steadily until a shot is released. The airgun will continue to fire as long as the trigger is held or until you are out of pellets.

NOTE:• If the air pressure is too low, the belt will not advance, preventing further shooting.

Step 2: Once the belt has been removed, examine the links to determine if the belt has any bad links. If you determine the belt to have a bad link, remove the link.

3. Your gun has a damaged feed cylinder:

Step 1: Remove the linkage arm. Refer to sec. 2.5

Step 2: Spin the feed cylinder without the linkage arm. Refer to sec. 2.5. Now, the feed clinder should spin freely. If the feed cylinder does not spin freely, then it is damaged.

2.11 SPECIAL FACTORS RELATED TO CO2, Nitrogen or HPAt

! CAUTION: SHOOTING WITH INSUFFICIENT PRESSURE CAN CAUSE A PELLET TO LODGE IN THE BARREL. SEE THE INSTRUCTIONS ON FEED JAMS (SECTION 2.10).

Sometimes the performance of an air powered gun is adversely affected by special factors. An example is when the air gun is used, kept or stored at temperatures well above or below the normal outdoor temperatures (50-85O F / 10-30O C).High temperatures can create a pressure in your Co2 Tank, Nitrogen Tank or HPA Tank, and the air gun it-self which considerably exceeds the normal operating pressure. Such overpressure can prevent the release of a shot and cause permanent damage. This air gun should not be stored or used at temperatures above(50-85O F / 10-30O C)/.

INSUFFICIENT AIR PRESSURESigns of insufficient air pressure in a cylinder include the following:A) The gun does not recock (sputters) .B) The shot is not as loud as with a full cylinder.C) The pellets hit the target lower than they do when the cylinder is full (i.e., they have a lower velocity).

22.

Page 24: by Air-Ordnance Revision (3) 6-2013 - Mikx B.V. · 1.1 SMG .22 Continued The SMG .22 is an air powered .22 caliber pellet gun. This airgun is designed to operate off of Co2, regulated

2.12 ADJUSTING THE SIGHTAim at a safe target. Hold the gun in such a way that the rear sight and the front sight can be seen at the same time. The front sight must be right in the middle of the hole in the rear sight. Now point the air gun so that the lower edge of the bull’s eye rests on the front sight. The center of the rear sight, the top of the front sight and the lower edge of the bull’s eye must be in a line (Fig. 9.c) Adjustment of the impact point is described below. The airgun is zero id at a distance of 50 ft. at the factory.

(Fig. 9.a) too high (Fig. 9.b) too low (Fig. 9.c) correct

(Fig. 10.a) (Fig. 10.b )

Elevation is corrected at the front sight.

Rear sight adjustments:If the air gun shoots too high, slide the dovetail sight forward (see Fig. 10.a).If the air gun shoots too low, slide the dovetail sight back (see Fig. 10.b).

2.13 STORAGEAlways store your air gun unloaded and with the safety engaged “ON SAFE”. Make sure that the drum and/or belt is empty. Keep the air gun out of reach of children and persons who are not familiar with it. Store pellets and Co2, nitrogen, or compressed air cylinders in a separate locationt

! CAUTION: NEVER LEAVE AN AIR GUN UNATTEND-ED IF IT IS LOADED AND/OR HAS AN AIR SUPPLY ATTACHED.

3.1 CARE

If you take good care of your air gun and handle it properly, it will give you years of pleasure.

At 1000 shot intervals clean barrel with felt cleaning pellets. Push cleaning rod through barrel from muzzle end. Repeat process until felt pellets appear clean.

At 1000 shot intervals clean the air gun bore with bore cleaner and degreaser. Apply this solution to a clean patch and pass through barrel from the muzzle end. Then, use a bore brush with nylon bristles to further loosen up remaining deposits of lead and debris. After this process, once again utilize the bore cleanser solution on clean patches until they appear clean upon exiting barrel.

t

! WARNING: DO NOT PERFORM ANY CARE, CLEANING, OR MAINTENANCE TO YOUR AIR GUN UNTIL YOU HAVE PUT ON THE SAFETY, DE-COCKED THE AIR GUN AND HAVE REMOVED THE AIR SOURCE. REMOVE THE AMMO DRUM AND MAKE SURE THE AIR GUN IS UNLOADED.
