The history of Dubai

• Not much is known of Dubai before the start of its Islamic culture. It is located in the UAE. When visiting Dubai, people are very protective over their culture and tradition.

• Dubai is known as the city of entertainment in the middle east. The official language is Arabic, however many people speak english.

Activity #1

• One thing you can do in Dubai is go to the Burjamen Centre shopping mall. This is an example of modernization because shopping malls are here in the middle east. The fact that this is now part of their culture proves that it is modernization.

• You can also go to the Burj Al Arab, which is a hotel. This is one of the nicest hotels in Dubai. This is modernization because it proves that the city is becoming more industrialized

with more newer and nicer hotels.

• The sky Dubai is an example of modernization because of the social change in Dubai. Skiing was not originally part of their culture.

• Going driving in the desert is a big change in Dubai. Instead of walking everywhere, you can take a car, making that an industrialized change. This is modernization.
